The system's wireless audio response is rated at 50 Hz to 15 kHz, with 0.5% typical total harmonic distortion and 100 dB typical A-weighted dynamic range. The SM58 capsule uses a cardioid pickup pattern intended to focus on the person using the handheld microphone. The MX153 is an omnidirectional electret condenser earset designed for close, consistent speech pickup.

The BLX88 receiver uses microprocessor-controlled internal antenna diversity and QuickScan frequency selection to support setup in changing RF environments. Separate group and channel controls allow each transmitter to be matched to its receiver channel. The receiver provides both balanced XLR microphone outputs and 1/4-inch instrument-level outputs for connection to a mixer, amplifier, or PA system.

For larger microphone requirements, the BLX platform can support up to 12 systems operating simultaneously when the frequency band and local RF environment permit it. Each transmitter runs on two AA alkaline batteries for up to 14 hours of stated battery life. Design & Installation

The BLX88 receiver, BLX1 bodypack, and BLX2 handheld transmitter use molded ABS housings. The handheld combines the BLX2 wireless transmitter with an integrated SM58 capsule, while the MX153 is a lightweight electret-condenser earset. The receiver includes status LEDs for normal audio and overload indication, plus separate controls for its two channels.

Place the BLX88 near the mixer or powered PA and connect each receiver channel through its XLR or 1/4-inch output. Connect the MX153 to the BLX1's four-pin TA4/TQG input, install two AA batteries in each transmitter, then match each transmitter's group and channel to the receiver. Keep transmitters within line of sight where possible, complete the receiver scan before use, and confirm that H11-band operation is authorized at the venue.
