Shure SLXD15+/85M-G57 Portable Wireless Lavalier System

The Shure SLXD15+/85M-G57 is a single-channel portable digital wireless system built for camera-mounted and audio-bag workflows. It combines the SLXD5+ portable receiver, SLXD1+ bodypack transmitter, and WL185M low-profile cardioid lavalier microphone in one coordinated package. The G57 version operates in the 470–608 MHz frequency range.

This system is suited to videographers, location-sound crews, presenters, houses of worship, and live-production users who need a compact wireless lavalier setup. The receiver provides a switchable camera output plus a dedicated headphone output for local monitoring. Its portable format supports cold-shoe mounting or placement in a sound bag.

Shure specifies transparent 24-bit digital audio with a typical dynamic range greater than 118 dB. The receiver's audio response extends from 20 Hz to 20 kHz, while the included WL185M cardioid lavalier is designed to focus on the wearer while helping reduce pickup from the sides and rear. A 160 Hz high-pass filter can be enabled when needed to reduce low-frequency handling or environmental noise.

The SLX-D+ platform uses a 138 MHz tuning range in the G57 band and provides automatic setup between linked components. ShowLink Ease enables remote transmitter management from the linked receiver, including frequency, RF power, control-lock, and firmware functions. AES-256 audio encryption is included, and the receiver incorporates Shure Digital Feedback Reduction processing.

For expanded portable production workflows, Multi-Mic Mode allows multiple SLXD5+ receivers to share and monitor coordinated frequency lists. Wireless Workbench desktop software and the WWB Mobile app support monitoring and control through Wi-Fi or Bluetooth connections. The included receiver, transmitter, microphone, batteries, audio cables, and cold-shoe adapter provide the essentials for a complete single-mic wireless setup.

Design & Installation

The SLXD5+ receiver uses an aluminum housing and measures 4.21 by 2.68 by 1 inch, while the SLXD1+ bodypack uses a durable PC/ABS housing. The WL185M is a professional low-profile condenser lavalier with a cardioid pickup pattern, TA4F connector, tie clip, and snap-fit foam windscreen. The receiver includes integrated quarter-wave antennas and a standard 1/4-inch threaded mounting point.

Mount the SLXD5+ on a compatible camera cold shoe with the included WA311 non-conductive adapter, or secure it in an audio bag using its compact form. Connect the locking 3.5 mm camera output to a camera, recorder, or compatible input, and use the separate 3.5 mm headphone output for monitoring. Power the receiver and transmitter with two AA batteries each, optional Shure SB903 rechargeable batteries, or USB-C/external DC power options where supported.
