The Mogami GOLD STUDIO-100 is a 100-foot balanced XLR microphone cable designed for studio, broadcast, live-sound, and installed-audio signal paths. It connects an XLR-output source such as a microphone or mixer to an XLR-input device such as a preamp, interface, console, or powered speaker. Its quad-conductor construction is intended to help maintain a clean, low-noise signal over a long cable run.
This cable is a practical choice for users working around power supplies, lighting equipment, computers, and other potential sources of electromagnetic or radio-frequency interference. Mogami uses its Neglex W2534 quad microphone cable, which pairs four conductors with a served bare-copper shield. The design is especially suited to balanced analog audio connections where interference rejection and dependable handling matter.
The GOLD STUDIO-100 uses a male 3-pin XLR connector at one end and a female 3-pin XLR connector at the other. Both connectors have black bodies and gold-plated contacts for corrosion resistance at the contact points. The 100-foot length supports longer microphone, stage, control-room, and equipment-rack runs without requiring an added extension cable.
Inside, oxygen-free copper conductors use XLPE insulation, while the outer jacket is flexible PVC with a 6 mm overall diameter. The W2534 cable's balanced quad connection has a specified capacitance of 29.6 pF per foot at 1 kHz between conductors. Its compact diameter helps make the cable easier to route through studio furniture, cable pathways, and portable production setups.
The GOLD STUDIO-100 fits naturally into systems built around microphones, mic preamps, recording interfaces, mixers, processors, and powered speakers with standard 3-pin XLR connections. It is not a speaker cable, power cable, or digital AES/EBU cable. Mogami covers the assembled cable with a limited lifetime warranty.
Key Features
- 100-Foot XLR Run: Provides reach for studio, stage, broadcast, and installed-audio connections.
- Neglex W2534 Quad Cable: Uses four conductors for balanced audio signal transmission.
- 24 AWG OFC Conductors: Oxygen-free copper conductors support dependable analog audio connections.
- Spiral Copper Shield: Helps reduce exposure to RF and electromagnetic interference.
- Gold-Plated XLR Contacts: Helps resist contact corrosion at the connector interface.
- XLPE Conductor Insulation: Supports stable electrical performance and soldering durability.
Design & Installation
The GOLD STUDIO-100 is built around Mogami W2534 cable with four 24 AWG oxygen-free copper conductors, XLPE insulation, a served bare-copper shield, and a flexible black PVC jacket. The cable measures 0.236 inch (6 mm) in outside diameter. It is factory terminated with straight, black-body, 3-pin XLR female and XLR male connectors with gold-plated contacts.
Connect the female XLR end to a microphone or other XLR-output device, then connect the male XLR end to a compatible XLR input on a preamp, mixer, recorder, interface, processor, or powered speaker. Route the cable away from AC power wiring where practical, avoid sharp bends or pinching, and use appropriate cable management for the 100-foot length. No adapters are included; equipment with non-XLR connections requires a separately selected, correctly wired adapter or interface cable.

What devices can this cable connect?
It connects equipment with standard 3-pin XLR connections: one female XLR end and one male XLR end. Typical uses include microphones, mic preamps, mixers, recording interfaces, processors, and powered speakers.
Is this a speaker cable?
No. This is a balanced microphone or line-level XLR signal cable using Mogami W2534 quad microphone cable. It is not intended as a passive speaker cable.
Which end connects to a microphone?
The female XLR connector normally connects to a microphone's male XLR output. The male XLR connector normally connects to the input of a preamp, mixer, interface, or other receiving device.
Is it suitable for long runs near electrical equipment?
The quad-conductor layout and served bare-copper shield are designed to improve rejection of RF and electromagnetic interference. Proper routing away from AC power cables remains a good installation practice.
What is included in the package?
The product includes one assembled 100-foot Mogami GOLD STUDIO-100 XLR female-to-XLR male microphone cable. No adapters, cable ties, or additional connectors are specified.
Does the cable include a warranty?
Yes. Mogami lists a limited lifetime warranty for this cable. Keep proof of purchase and consult the warranty terms for coverage details.
