The Mogami GOLD 3.5 2 XLRF 20 is a 20-foot stereo breakout cable with one 3.5mm TRS male plug and two 3-pin XLR female connectors. It is designed to route separate left and right audio channels from XLR-equipped source outputs to a device with a 3.5mm stereo line input. This configuration is useful for connecting mixers, preamps, audio interfaces, or other dual-XLR-output equipment to compatible recorders and computer audio inputs.
The dual XLR female ends connect to XLR male outputs, while the 3.5mm TRS plug connects to the destination's stereo mini input. Although it uses XLR connectors at the source end, the stereo 3.5mm TRS termination means the complete connection is not balanced end-to-end. This is a directional adapter cable and is not intended as the reverse of a 3.5mm output-to-dual-XLR-input cable.
Mogami builds this assembly with W2930 two-channel multicore microphone snake cable. The cable construction uses individually shielded pairs, helping keep the left and right channels organized within one flexible outer jacket. Its two-channel design makes it well suited to stereo line-level routing where a single cable run is preferred over two separate cables.
Gold-contact connectors and straight connector bodies support reliable repeated connections in studio, mobile-recording, DJ, and installed audio setups. The 20-foot overall length provides extra reach for equipment racks, workstations, recording spaces, and stage-side connections. An approximately 18-inch fan-out separates the two XLR female connectors for access to adjacent or spaced output jacks.
This cable is a practical fit when the source provides left and right audio on separate XLR male outputs and the receiving device accepts a 3.5mm stereo line input. It does not convert microphone-level signals, provide gain control, or change connector gender at the XLR source end. For the opposite signal direction, a cable with dual XLR male connectors is required instead.
Key Features
- Stereo XLR Breakout: Routes separate left and right channels to one 3.5mm TRS input.
- 20-Foot Cable Length: Provides reach for studio and recording-system connections.
- Dual XLR Female Ends: Connect to XLR male source outputs.
- Mogami W2930 Snake Cable: Uses two individually shielded audio channels in one jacket.
- Gold-Contact Connectors: Supports dependable contact surfaces for repeated connections.
- Straight Connector Design: Suits conventional equipment-panel and recorder connections.
Design & Installation
The GOLD 3.5 2 XLRF 20 uses Mogami W2930 two-channel multicore cable with flexible PVC construction, XLPE insulation, drain wires, and served spiral shielding for each channel. The main cable section has a two-channel snake layout, while the XLR ends are split into a fan-out. Straight connectors at both ends keep the cable suitable for standard front-, side-, and rear-panel connections.
Connect the two XLR female connectors to the corresponding left and right XLR male line outputs of the source device, then connect the 3.5mm TRS plug to a compatible stereo line input. Confirm that the receiving 3.5mm jack accepts stereo line-level audio and set levels at the source or destination as needed. Do not use this cable where dual XLR male connectors are required at the destination, and do not treat the complete connection as balanced.

What equipment can this cable connect?
It connects dual XLR male source outputs to one device with a 3.5mm stereo TRS line input. Typical source equipment can include mixers, preamps, and audio interfaces with separate left and right XLR outputs.
Is this cable balanced from end to end?
No. The XLR ends connect to separate channels, but the 3.5mm stereo TRS connector does not make the complete connection balanced end-to-end.
Can I use it from a 3.5mm output to two XLR inputs?
No. This version has XLR female connectors, which are intended to connect to XLR male source outputs. A 3.5mm-to-dual-XLR-male cable is required for connecting to XLR female inputs.
How long is the cable and XLR fan-out?
The overall cable length is 20 feet, or approximately 6.1 meters. The dual XLR female connector fan-out is approximately 18 inches.
What is included with the cable?
The product is the assembled 3.5mm TRS male to dual XLR female stereo Y-cable. No separate adapters, converters, or level-control hardware are specified.
