The Mogami PLATINUM STUDIO 12 is a 12-foot XLR-to-XLR cable for studio microphone, line-level, and AES3 digital-audio connections. The cable uses two 18 AWG oxygen-free copper conductors and is designed for low-capacitance signal transfer. Its 110-ohm characteristic impedance supports AES3 digital audio while retaining suitability for analog audio connections. Mogami positions the Platinum Studio series for accuracy-focused studio work rather than live-stage duty.

A 100% coverage spiral shield helps protect the signal path from interference. The cable's specified capacitance is 15.3 pF per foot between the inner conductors at 1 kHz and 20°C. This construction makes it appropriate for balanced XLR signal paths in studio racks, control rooms, and powered-monitor systems.

One end terminates in a 3-pin male XLR connector and the other in a 3-pin female XLR connector. That configuration is commonly used to connect a microphone to an XLR input or to carry balanced audio between compatible devices. The PLATINUM STUDIO 12 is built around Mogami W3402 cable with red and white insulated conductors, a clear LDPE monofilament filler, and a black PVC outer jacket. The cable has an overall jacket diameter of 7.8 ± 0.5 mm. Its served shield uses approximately 100 strands of 0.18 mm wire.

Route the cable between compatible 3-pin XLR devices, matching the male end to a female XLR jack and the female end to a male XLR jack. It is suited to studio microphones, recording interfaces, mixers, outboard gear, and compatible powered speakers or subwoofers. Mogami specifies this series for studio use and not for frequent rough handling or live-stage use.
