The Shure BLX288/B58-H11 is a dual-channel UHF wireless vocal system for two performers, presenters, or hosts who need to move freely without separate receiver setups. It pairs a BLX88 tabletop dual receiver with two BLX2 handheld transmitters fitted with integrated Beta 58A microphone capsules. The H11 version operates from 572 to 596 MHz, so frequency-band authorization and local spectrum compatibility should be confirmed before use.

Designed for live vocals, speeches, houses of worship, DJs, and event production, this system provides two independent wireless microphone channels in one package. Its line-of-sight operating range is rated up to 300 feet, giving performers useful freedom of movement in appropriately planned spaces. Actual wireless performance can vary with RF interference, obstacles, reflections, and placement.

Each handheld transmitter uses a Beta 58A dynamic vocal capsule with a supercardioid pickup pattern. The capsule's vocal-focused response, brightened midrange, and controlled bass roll-off support clear close-mic vocal reproduction. Its directional pattern helps reduce pickup from off-axis stage sound when microphones and monitors are positioned thoughtfully.

Shure QuickScan frequency selection simplifies initial setup by locating an available group and channel. The BLX88 receiver provides separate controls and status indicators for both channels, helping users match each transmitter to its receiving channel. Up to 12 compatible BLX systems can be used per frequency band, depending on local RF conditions and regional requirements.

The receiver offers individual XLR microphone-level and 1/4-inch instrument-level outputs for each channel, allowing connection to a mixer, powered speaker, amplifier, or PA system. Each BLX2 transmitter runs on two AA alkaline batteries for up to 14 hours under typical conditions. The system includes the core receiver, two handheld transmitters, microphone clips, a power supply, four AA batteries, and documentation for a ready-to-deploy two-person setup.

Design & Installation

The BLX88 receiver and BLX2 transmitter bodies use molded ABS housings designed for portable wireless-system use. Each BLX2/B58 combines its transmitter and Beta 58A vocal capsule in one handheld unit. The receiver has front-panel audio and ready indicators for each channel, while the transmitter provides selectable 0 dB or -10 dB gain attenuation.

Place the receiver where the transmitters have as clear a line of sight as possible and connect each channel output to the appropriate input on a mixer, PA system, or amplifier. Use the receiver's group scan, then set each transmitter's group and channel to match its receiver channel before use. Install two AA alkaline batteries in each transmitter, and use the supplied microphone clips when placing the handhelds on stands.
