BOSS AC-22LX 10W Acoustic Instrument Amplifier
$479.99
AUDIO360 AD0C 0 AWG Amplifier Wiring Kit
$78.00
The BOSS AC-22LX is a compact stereo acoustic amplifier for acoustic-electric guitars and other pickup-equipped stringed instruments. It gives players a dedicated solution for practicing, performing, recording, and playing through a personal amplification system without relying on a microphone setup. The two-channel format also accommodates a vocal microphone alongside an instrument.
Its 10-watt stereo power section drives two custom-designed 5-inch twin-cone speakers. The Guitar/Instrument channel provides three-band EQ plus reverb or reverb-and-chorus processing, while the separate Mic channel includes its own EQ and reverb. This layout lets a singer-songwriter shape instrument and vocal sound independently from one compact amp.
BOSS Air Feel processing is the central sound-shaping feature. Five modes—Dry, XY, AB, ORTF, and Mid-Side—are designed to alter the direct pickup sound with characteristics inspired by established stereo microphone techniques. Players can select a presentation that suits strumming, fingerstyle playing, ensemble work, or a straightforward unprocessed pickup tone.
The AC-22LX stores up to 15 sound setups, making it practical to recall settings for different instruments or songs. Its onboard Rhythm Box supplies 15 patterns across cajon, shaker, conga, tambourine, and drums categories, with tap-tempo and variation control. A looper is also available when a compatible optional footswitch is connected.
For integration beyond its built-in speakers, the AC-22LX includes stereo line outputs, a headphones/recording output, stereo aux input, and USB audio with Loopback. It can run from the included DC power adaptor or eight AA batteries for portable use. Optional expansion includes BOSS footswitches, the BT-DUAL Bluetooth Audio MIDI Dual Adaptor, EV-1-WL wireless MIDI expression pedal, and FS-1-WL wireless footswitch.

Design & Installation
The AC-22LX uses a compact cabinet measuring 12-1/2 inches wide, 8-5/16 inches deep, and 10-7/16 inches high, with a listed weight of 8 lb 14 oz excluding its AC adaptor. Its design places the Guitar/Instrument, Mic, Rhythm Box, memory, master-volume, and Air Feel controls on the top panel for direct access. Two custom-designed 5-inch twin-cone speakers are built into the cabinet for stereo operation.
Place the amplifier on a stable surface, connect a pickup-equipped instrument to the 1/4-inch Guitar/Instrument input, and connect a microphone to the XLR Mic input when needed. Use the L/MONO line output for mono connection to a mixer or recorder, or use both line outputs for stereo operation; the PHONES/REC OUT jack silences the onboard speakers when headphones are connected. For portable operation, install eight AA alkaline or rechargeable Ni-MH batteries, or use the included DC 9 V AC adaptor.

What instruments can I use with the AC-22LX?
It is designed for acoustic-electric guitars and other pickup-equipped acoustic stringed instruments. The Guitar/Instrument input is a 1/4-inch phone jack with a 10 megohm input impedance.
Can I connect a microphone for vocals?
Yes. The Mic channel uses an XLR connector and includes independent volume, bass, treble, and reverb controls. It also provides selectable 48 V phantom power, rated at 14 mA maximum.
Does the AC-22LX have Bluetooth built in?
No. Bluetooth functionality requires the optional BOSS BT-DUAL Bluetooth Audio MIDI Dual Adaptor. The amplifier includes a dedicated connector for that adaptor.
Can I use it with headphones or a PA system?
Yes. It has a stereo miniature PHONES/REC OUT jack and L/MONO plus R 1/4-inch line outputs. Connecting headphones mutes sound from the amplifier's internal speakers.

Included items are the owner's manual, the USING THE UNIT SAFELY leaflet, an AC adaptor, and a power cord. Footswitches, the BT-DUAL adaptor, EV-1-WL, and FS-1-WL are sold separately.
Can I run the AC-22LX on batteries?
Yes. It accepts eight AA alkaline batteries or eight AA rechargeable Ni-MH batteries. BOSS lists approximate continuous operation of eight hours with alkaline batteries and 10 hours with 2,500 mAh Ni-MH batteries.
