The Zoom PodTrak P4next is a compact four-input podcast recorder and USB audio interface for creators recording roundtable conversations, interviews, livestreams, and phone guests. It brings microphone inputs, independent headphone monitoring, onboard recording, and call-in connectivity into one portable unit. This helps reduce the need to assemble separate mixers, interfaces, headphone amplifiers, and recorders.

Designed for up to four local microphone users, the P4next provides four XLR inputs with individual level controls and up to +70 dB of input gain. Each participant can use a dedicated headphone output with its own volume control. Channel 4 can alternatively be used for the TRRS smartphone connection instead of its XLR input.

The recorder captures 48 kHz/24-bit WAV audio to a microSDHC or microSDXC card, with stereo mix and multitrack recording options. It can record a ready-to-use stereo mix while preserving separate channel files for later editing. Its maximum simultaneous recording capacity is 11 tracks.

Zoom equips the P4next with TONE, COMP, and AI Noise Reduction processing to help manage spoken-word recordings at the source. TONE applies podcast-oriented voice shaping, while COMP helps control large changes in vocal level. AI Noise Reduction is designed to suppress surrounding noise picked up by the microphone inputs.

For hybrid and mobile production, the P4next connects through USB-C as a 12-in/2-out USB audio interface for computers, smartphones, and tablets. Its TRRS smartphone jack supports two-way call audio with mix-minus behavior to reduce echo for a remote guest. Four sound pads provide quick access to intros, effects, and user-loaded audio during recording or streaming.

Dedicated knobs control each microphone level and headphone level, while dedicated mute buttons, backlit transport controls, sound pads, and a 128 × 64 OLED display keep primary functions accessible. Connect up to four XLR microphones and up to four headphones, then install a compatible microSDHC or microSDXC card for standalone recording. Power the recorder with two AA batteries, USB bus power, a 5 V portable battery, or a commercially available USB AC adapter rated at 12 W or higher. For phone calls, connect a compatible four-contact TRRS cable to the smartphone jack and select the smartphone source for channel 4; Bluetooth call connectivity requires the optional Zoom BTA-2 adapter.
