The Zoom PodTrak P4 is a compact multitrack recorder built for podcast production, interviews, and livestreaming. It brings four microphone inputs, four separate headphone outputs, recording controls, and remote-guest connectivity into one portable unit. This makes it useful for creators who want to capture a group conversation without relying on a computer during the recording session.

Each of the four XLR microphone inputs has its own level control and can supply +48V phantom power for compatible condenser microphones. The built-in preamps also support dynamic microphones, allowing a mixed microphone setup when needed. Individual input control helps hosts set levels for different speaking voices before recording.

The P4 records a stereo master file along with separate files for each input channel and the stereo Sound Pad output. This gives creators a ready-to-use mix while preserving isolated tracks for editing afterward. Lo Cut and limiter processing are available for microphone inputs to help reduce unwanted low-frequency noise and control overly high input levels.

For remote interviews, the P4 includes a TRRS smartphone connection and USB audio interface operation for computers, smartphones, and tablets. Its Mix Minus functions are designed to prevent a remote caller from hearing their own returned audio. Channel 3 can receive the smartphone connection, while channel 4 can receive USB audio return.

The PodTrak P4 can operate from two AA batteries, USB bus power, an optional AD-17 AC adapter, or a USB mobile battery. Four Sound Pads provide one-touch playback of music, jingles, effects, or pre-recorded clips during a session. It is a practical centerpiece for a portable four-person podcast setup, with optional Zoom accessories available for wireless phone connection, power, cases, microphone cables, and stands.

The PodTrak P4 uses a compact desktop format with dedicated input, headphone, Sound Pad, transport, mute, and menu controls. Its backlit 96 × 64 LCD provides recorder status and menu access, while the side panels provide separate USB Type-C ports for data connection and power. The unit measures 112 mm wide, 155 mm deep, and 47 mm high, with a unit weight of 290 g.

Connect microphones to the four XLR inputs and headphones to the four 3.5 mm stereo headphone jacks, then install a compatible Class 10 or higher SDHC or SDXC card for recording. Use a four-contact TRRS cable for a phone guest, or connect the USB Type-C data port directly to a computer, smartphone, or tablet for audio-interface operation.
