The Zoom INST-P01PMC Instamic Pro Plus C is an ultra-compact mono microphone and audio recorder for creators who need dependable sound without a conventional wired mic setup. It records directly to its built-in 16GB memory while also functioning as a Bluetooth microphone for compatible phones, computers, cameras, and apps. Its small format is well suited to interviews, vehicle sound capture, action-camera work, field recording, and video production.

Designed for unpredictable recording conditions, the Pro Plus C uses 32-bit float mono recording to preserve a wide usable dynamic range. This helps capture both quiet details and loud sound sources without conventional digital clipping concerns. The four-microphone omnidirectional MEMS array covers a 40Hz to 20kHz frequency range and handles sound-pressure levels up to 135 dB SPL.

Its IP67-rated enclosure is made for mobile use where dust, splashes, rain, and brief submersion may be a concern. The recorder is rated for submersion to 1 meter for up to 30 minutes. A soft-touch matte-black finish and compact 1.5 x 1 x 0.5-inch body help it remain discreet when mounted in a scene or on equipment.

The Instamic Pro Plus C supports standalone recording from its onboard control as well as wireless control through the Instamic Remote app for iOS and Android. The app can adjust settings, monitor audio, control up to 10 units, and provide a 3-band EQ. Bluetooth operation also supports high-quality 48kHz monitoring and in-app capture, while Hands-Free Profile mode enables broad Bluetooth-audio compatibility at 16kHz.

For video workflows, this recorder includes timecode support through its internal mobile-device reference and compatible Atomos UltraSync Blue and Tentacle Sync devices. Recordings transfer through USB-C as WAV files, making it easy to bring takes into a computer-based editing workflow. Included magnetic, adhesive, and Velcro mounting options provide a practical starting point, while optional windshields, covers, and action-camera accessories can expand the setup.

Design & Installation

The Pro Plus C uses a soft-touch matte-black housing that measures only 1.5 x 1 x 0.5 inches and weighs 18 grams. Its sealed IP67 construction, onboard status LEDs, USB-C connection, and integrated microphone array keep the recorder self-contained for compact installations. Three LEDs show battery and charging status, recording level, and available internal storage.

Mount the recorder using the included magnetic mount, adhesive mount, or Velcro mount according to the recording surface and placement needs. For adhesive and Velcro setups, use a clean, smooth surface and allow the mount to bond for at least 24 hours before use. Use the Instamic Remote app for mobile control and timecode setup, or connect the included USB cable to a computer to transfer recorded WAV files.
