Shure SLXD14+/93-G57 Wireless Lavalier System

The Shure SLXD14+/93-G57 is a complete digital wireless lavalier system for clear, hands-free spoken-word reinforcement. It combines the SLXD4+ rack receiver, SLXD1+ bodypack transmitter, and WL93 miniature omnidirectional lavalier microphone. It is suited to presentations, houses of worship, education, corporate events, broadcast-style speech, and installed sound systems.

The included WL93 microphone is designed for unobtrusive placement on clothing while maintaining an omnidirectional pickup pattern. Its controlled low-frequency response helps support intelligible speech in practical presentation environments. The bodypack connects to the lavalier through a locking TA4F-style miniature connector.

SLX-D+ uses 24-bit digital audio with a stated dynamic range greater than 118 dB. The system audio path has a 20 Hz to 20 kHz receiver output response and 2.8 ms latency. This provides a clean, natural presentation path for speech when connected to a compatible mixer, DSP, recorder, or PA system.

For RF operation, the G57 version covers 470 to 608 MHz with a 138 MHz tuning range. Shure specifies operation of up to 11 simultaneous systems in 6 MHz TV bands or up to 14 systems in 8 MHz TV bands. Actual wireless performance depends on local spectrum availability, antenna placement, building conditions, and interference.

The SLXD4+ receiver adds practical system-management tools for venues and production teams. It includes AES-256 encryption, patented Digital Feedback Reducer processing, Ethernet networking, Bluetooth Low Energy connectivity, and support for Wireless Workbench and the WWB Mobile app. ShowLink Ease allows supported transmitter parameters to be adjusted remotely from the linked receiver.

Design & Installation

The SLXD4+ receiver uses a galvanized-steel housing intended for rack or desktop deployment, while the SLXD1+ bodypack uses a PC/ABS enclosure for wearable use. The compact WL93 uses an ABS microphone housing with a stainless-steel mesh grille. Included mounting accessories allow the lavalier to be clipped, sewn, or protected with the supplied windscreen.

Install the receiver in a rack with the included rackmount hardware or position it where its two supplied quarter-wave antennas have clear RF coverage. Connect its balanced XLR or 1/4-inch output to a mixer, DSP, recorder, or powered sound system, then use IR sync to link the transmitter and receiver. Confirm that the selected G57 operating frequency is appropriate and authorized for the deployment location before use.
