Shure SLXD5+ Portable Digital Wireless Receiver

The Shure SLXD5+ is a single-channel portable digital wireless receiver designed for mobile audio capture. It can mount to a camera’s cold shoe or work in an audio bag, giving videographers, location-sound crews, and event-production teams a compact way to receive wireless microphone audio. Its portable form factor helps keep a professional wireless setup practical when a rack receiver is not appropriate.

This G57-version receiver operates across 470–608 MHz and provides a 138 MHz tuning range. It is built to work with compatible Shure SLX-D+ transmitters and can also work with legacy SLX-D transmitters within their applicable operating range. The receiver supports automatic setup functions that help linked devices remain connected when RF conditions change.

Audio is processed digitally at 24-bit resolution, with a specified dynamic range of more than 118 dB and system latency of 2.8 ms. The receiver offers a 20 Hz to 20 kHz audio frequency response and less than 0.02% total harmonic distortion. A selectable 160 Hz high-pass filter can help reduce low-frequency handling noise and rumble when needed.

For practical field monitoring and recording connections, the SLXD5+ includes separate locking 3.5 mm camera-audio and headphone outputs. The camera output supports balanced mono or dual-mono operation, while its output level can be set for mic- or line-level equipment. This makes the receiver suitable for cameras, portable recorders, mixers, and other compatible production devices.

The SLXD5+ also supports Multi-Mic Mode for monitoring multiple sources from one receiver, as well as remote transmitter adjustment through ShowLink Ease. Built-in Shure Digital Feedback Reducer processing and AES-256 encryption add useful system-management and security features. It is a receiver-only component, so a compatible Shure transmitter and microphone or input source are required to complete a wireless system.

Design & Installation

The SLXD5+ uses an aluminum housing and an ergonomic portable layout with integrated quarter-wave receiver antennas. Its front-panel display and physical controls provide access to frequency, audio, monitoring, and device settings. The receiver measures 4.21 by 2.68 by 1 inch and weighs 182 g.

Use the included non-conductive camera shoe adapter with the receiver’s standard 1/4-inch threaded connector for camera mounting, or place the unit in a suitable audio bag. Connect the locking 3.5 mm camera output to a camera, recorder, or mixer, then select balanced mono or dual mono and the appropriate mic or line output setting. Power is available from two AA batteries, an optional Shure SB903 rechargeable battery, or 5 V DC through USB-C.
