The Shure GLXD2+/B58=-Z3 is a handheld digital wireless transmitter with a BETA 58A vocal microphone capsule. It is made for singers, presenters, worship teams, and performers who need a cordless handheld microphone for a compatible GLX-D+ wireless system. A receiver is required and sold separately.

The integrated BETA 58A capsule uses a supercardioid pickup pattern to focus on the performer while reducing off-axis sound. Its vocal-oriented response combines brightened midrange detail with bass roll-off to help manage proximity effect during close use. The result is a clear, present vocal character suited to live reinforcement and project-studio applications.

GLX-D+ Dual Band technology operates across the 2.4 GHz and 5.8 GHz ranges. Automatic frequency management monitors the available spectrum and selects a suitable operating channel to support dependable wireless performance. The transmitter is designed for license-free operation in its supported region.

The included SB904 lithium-ion battery supports up to 12 hours of operation, depending on operating conditions. It can be charged in a compatible GLX-D+ receiver or through the transmitter's USB-C charging connection. A 15-minute quick charge can provide up to 1.5 hours of use.

This transmitter is an expansion or replacement component for Shure GLX-D+ Dual Band systems. It pairs with compatible GLX-D+ receivers, but it does not work with original GLX-D or GLX-D Advanced wireless equipment. For multi-system installations, compatible GLX-D+ rack receivers and the optional GLX-D+ Frequency Manager support expanded system coordination.

Key Features

  • BETA 58A Vocal Capsule: Supercardioid dynamic capsule is tailored for close vocal use.
  • Dual-Band Wireless: Operates across 2.4 GHz and 5.8 GHz bands.
  • Automatic Frequency Management: Monitors spectrum conditions and moves to a clean channel when needed.
  • SB904 Rechargeable Battery: Included lithium-ion battery provides up to 12 hours of runtime.
  • USB-C Charging: Charge the installed battery without removing it from the transmitter.
  • GLX-D+ Compatibility: Designed exclusively for compatible GLX-D+ Dual Band receivers.

Design & Installation

The GLXD2+ combines an aluminum-alloy and ABS-plastic transmitter housing with the BETA 58A's rugged vocal-mic design. The capsule incorporates a neodymium magnet, pneumatic shock mount, built-in pop filtering, and hardened steel mesh grille. The handheld transmitter measures 246 mm long, 51 mm wide, and 37 mm deep, and weighs 225 g without its battery.

Pair the transmitter with a compatible GLX-D+ Dual Band receiver before use; a receiver is not included with this component. Install the supplied SB904 battery, then charge it through the compatible receiver, an optional SB904 charging accessory, or the transmitter's USB-C connection. Position stage monitors toward the supercardioid microphone's rear-side rejection angles rather than directly behind the microphone for appropriate feedback control.
