Shure SLXD3+=-G57 Wireless XLR Plug-On Transmitter

The Shure SLXD3+=-G57 is a digital wireless plug-on transmitter that converts an XLR-equipped microphone or audio source for use in an SLX-D+ wireless system. It is designed for applications where a wired handheld, boom, podium, or specialty microphone needs wireless mobility without changing the microphone itself. The G57 version operates in the 470–608 MHz frequency range.

This transmitter is suited to live sound, presentations, broadcast-style production, houses of worship, and location work using compatible SLX-D+ receivers. Its locking XLR ring secures the connection to the attached source to help prevent wobble during use. The transmitter supports both dynamic microphones and condenser microphones that require phantom power.

Audio is transmitted using Shure proprietary 24-bit digital technology with a specified dynamic range greater than 118 dB. Input pad and boost settings help accommodate microphones and sources with different output levels. A selectable high-pass filter provides another practical control for reducing unwanted low-frequency handling or environmental noise.

For condenser microphones, the SLXD3+ can supply selectable +12 V or +48 V phantom power. The XLR input accepts a maximum level of 20.5 dBV with the -12 dB pad engaged, 8.5 dBV at the normal setting, or -3.5 dBV with +12 dB boost selected. This range makes the transmitter adaptable to typical microphones as well as higher-output sources.

The SLXD3+=-G57 is part of the SLX-D+ wireless platform and requires a compatible SLX-D+ receiver to complete a working wireless link. ShowLink Ease enables supported receiver-based remote adjustment of transmitter settings, while Wireless Workbench and WWB Mobile support system monitoring and control. It runs for up to eight hours on two included AA batteries or an optional Shure SB903 rechargeable battery.

Design & Installation

The SLXD3+ uses an aluminum, zinc-alloy, and PC/ABS housing with an integrated dipole antenna. Its compact plug-on format measures 126 × 41 × 41 mm and weighs 200 g. A front display, control buttons, status LEDs, and locking XLR connector provide direct access to operating and connection functions.

Attach the transmitter directly to a compatible XLR microphone or cable, then lock the connector ring before use. Pair it with a compatible SLX-D+ receiver in the same G57 frequency band and select the appropriate phantom-power, input pad/boost, RF-power, and high-pass settings for the connected source. Two AA batteries, a carrying bag, and a leather protective sleeve with integrated belt clip are included.
