Mogami GOLD STAGE-50 50 Ft XLR Microphone Cable $194.95
Bundle total: $853.95

The Shure BLX288/PG58-H11 is a dual-channel wireless vocal system built for two performers, presenters, or hosts who need dependable handheld microphone operation without cables. It combines a BLX88 dual receiver with two BLX2 handheld transmitters fitted with PG58 dynamic microphone capsules. The H11 version operates in the 572–596 MHz UHF band, so frequency authorization should be verified for the intended location before use.

This system is a practical fit for small venues, houses of worship, mobile events, rehearsal spaces, karaoke, and presentation setups. Its two independent receiver channels allow two microphones to operate at the same time through a compatible mixer, powered speaker, amplifier, or PA system. The receiver provides both XLR microphone-level and 1/4-inch instrument-level outputs for each channel.

Each included PG58 handheld microphone uses a dynamic cardioid capsule designed for vocal pickup. The cardioid pattern focuses on sound arriving from the front of the microphone while helping reduce pickup of surrounding sound. This makes the system well suited to speech, announcements, lead vocals, and backup vocals in live environments.

Shure BLX wireless technology is designed around straightforward setup and frequency selection. The BLX88 receiver uses group and channel scanning to locate an available operating channel, while the transmitters are set to match the receiver. Receiver audio LEDs provide visual indication of normal audio level and overload.

The two BLX2 transmitters each run on two AA alkaline batteries for up to 14 hours under typical conditions. With a stated line-of-sight working range of up to 300 feet, the system gives performers and presenters room to move within an appropriately planned wireless setup. It can also serve as a foundation for a larger BLX deployment, with up to 12 compatible systems per frequency band depending on the RF environment.

Key Features

  • Dual-Channel BLX88 Receiver: Operates two wireless microphone channels from one tabletop receiver.
  • H11 UHF Band: Uses the 572–596 MHz frequency range; confirm local authorization before use.
  • Two PG58 Handhelds: Includes two BLX2 transmitters with dynamic cardioid PG58 microphone capsules.
  • QuickScan Setup: Group and channel scanning helps identify an available operating frequency.
  • 300-Foot Working Range: Supports up to 300 feet of line-of-sight operation in suitable RF conditions.
  • Long AA Battery Life: Each BLX2 transmitter operates up to 14 hours on two alkaline AA batteries.

Design & Installation

The BLX88 receiver and BLX2 transmitters use molded ABS housings designed for regular portable wireless-system use. The handheld transmitters include status LEDs, group and channel controls, battery compartments, and identification caps. The PG58 microphone design uses a cardioid dynamic capsule for focused vocal pickup.

Place the receiver where it has a clear line of sight to the transmitters and keep it away from large metal surfaces or nearby interference sources when possible. Connect each receiver channel to a mixer, powered speaker, or amplifier using its XLR microphone output or 1/4-inch instrument output, then use the receiver scan and match each transmitter's group and channel setting. Install two AA batteries in each transmitter, adjust gain if needed, and confirm normal audio activity with the receiver LEDs.
