Shure BLX188/CVL-J11 Dual Lavalier Wireless System
$689.00
Mogami GOLD STAGE-50 50 Ft XLR Microphone Cable
$194.95
The Shure BLX188/CVL-J11 is a dual-channel wireless lavalier system designed to place two presenters, speakers, instructors, or performers on the same sound system without microphone cables. It combines a BLX88 tabletop dual receiver, two BLX1 bodypack transmitters, and two CVL cardioid lavalier microphones. The J11 version operates in the 596–616 MHz frequency band, so purchasers should verify local frequency authorization before use.
This system is suited to presentations, classrooms, houses of worship, corporate events, panel discussions, and other speech-focused applications. Each presenter receives a compact bodypack and clip-on microphone for hands-free operation. The included CVL microphones use a cardioid pickup pattern to help focus on the speaker while reducing unwanted sound from the sides and rear.
Shure's BLX platform uses analog UHF wireless operation with a stated line-of-sight working range of up to 300 feet. The system audio frequency response is rated at 50 Hz to 15 kHz, dependent on microphone type. For everyday use, the BLX1 bodypacks provide up to 14 hours of operation from two AA alkaline batteries each.
The BLX88 receiver supports two independent wireless channels in one tabletop chassis. Its QuickScan function helps locate an available frequency, while internal antenna diversity is designed to support more stable reception. Separate XLR and 1/4-inch outputs allow connection to compatible mixers, powered speakers, amplifiers, or installed sound systems.
As a complete two-person package, the BLX188/CVL-J11 is a practical fit when two speakers need coordinated wireless audio from a shared receiver. The receiver can be used on a tabletop or paired with the optional Shure URT2 rack tray for rack installation. For larger deployments, Shure rates BLX for up to 12 compatible systems per frequency band, with actual channel count dependent on region and RF environment.
Key Features
- Dual-Presenter Configuration: Includes two bodypacks and two lavalier microphones for simultaneous use by two speakers.
- J11 Frequency Band: Operates in the 596–616 MHz band; local authorization should be confirmed before use.
- BLX88 Dual Receiver: Provides two independent receiver channels in a single tabletop unit.
- QuickScan Selection: Helps identify an available operating frequency for simpler setup.
- Long Battery Life: Each BLX1 bodypack runs up to 14 hours on two AA alkaline batteries.
- Cardioid CVL Microphones: Clip-on lavaliers provide hands-free speech pickup with reduced side and rear sound.
Design & Installation
The BLX88 receiver and BLX1 transmitters use molded ABS housings designed for portable sound applications. The bodypacks have an ergonomic format with an accessible power switch and adjustable gain control. Each CVL microphone is a compact electret condenser lavalier with a TA4F connector, tie clip, and foam windscreen.
Connect the receiver's XLR or 1/4-inch outputs to a compatible mixer, amplifier, or powered speaker system, then power the receiver with the included PS24 supply. Clip each CVL microphone to clothing approximately 6–10 inches from the speaker's mouth and connect it to its BLX1 bodypack. Use QuickScan during setup, keep the transmitters within line of sight when possible, and match all wireless components to the J11 band.
