The Shure BLX14/CVL-H11 is a complete wireless lavalier system for presenters, instructors, clergy, and other spoken-word users who need hands-free mobility. It combines the BLX4 single-channel receiver, BLX1 bodypack transmitter, and CVL cardioid lavalier microphone in one coordinated package. The H11 version operates in the 572–596 MHz frequency band, so local spectrum authorization should be verified before use.
The CVL clip-on microphone offers a compact, discreet way to capture speech without requiring the user to hold a microphone. Its cardioid pickup pattern is designed to focus on sound arriving from the front while reducing some surrounding sound. This makes the system well suited to classrooms, conference rooms, houses of worship, and presentation spaces.
BLX wireless technology provides a working range of up to 300 feet line of sight, although actual range depends on RF interference, reflections, and obstructions. The BLX1 bodypack uses two AA batteries and can operate for up to 14 hours with alkaline batteries. A front-panel battery indicator helps the user monitor transmitter status during an event.
The BLX4 receiver supports one-touch group scanning to locate an available group and channel, then the bodypack can be matched to the selected setting. Its front-panel LEDs show received audio status and transmitter readiness, while the display shows the active group and channel. The receiver provides both balanced XLR microphone-level output and unbalanced 1/4-inch instrument-level output for connection to a mixer or amplifier.
For installations with more than one wireless system, BLX supports up to 12 simultaneous systems when the band and RF environment allow it. The H11 system can serve as a straightforward single-speaker solution or as part of a coordinated multi-system setup. Keeping the receiver in line of sight, away from metal surfaces and nearby interference sources, helps support dependable operation.

Design & Installation
The BLX1 bodypack and BLX4 receiver use molded ABS housings designed for portable professional audio use. The bodypack has a belt clip, integrated antenna, TA4 microphone input, group/channel display, and adjustable audio gain. The CVL microphone uses a TA4F connector, includes a lavalier clip and windscreen, and has a 1.3 m cable.
Connect the BLX4 receiver to its PS24 power supply, then connect its XLR or 1/4-inch output to a compatible mixer or amplifier. Perform a receiver group scan, set the BLX1 to the matching group and channel, and adjust bodypack gain while watching the receiver audio LED. For best results, place the receiver with a clear line of sight to the transmitter and position the lavalier to avoid contact with clothing or jewelry.
