The sE Electronics V7 CHROME is a wired dynamic handheld microphone designed for vocals, speech, broadcasting, podcasting, and selected instrument applications. Its XLR connection makes it suitable for use with compatible mixers, microphone preamps, PA systems, and audio interfaces. The chrome-plated version retains the core V7 platform while adding a polished exterior finish.

This microphone is intended for performers and creators who need a focused pickup pattern in live or recording environments. Its supercardioid pattern helps prioritize sound arriving from the front of the microphone while reducing pickup from other directions. That can be useful on stages with monitors, nearby instruments, or multiple open microphones.

The V7 CHROME uses a dynamic capsule with an aluminum voice coil and neodymium magnet. Its stated frequency range is 40 Hz to 19 kHz, with a sensitivity of 2.0 mV/Pa. The result is a microphone voiced for clear vocal and instrument capture without requiring external power for its dynamic capsule.

Mechanical noise is addressed through sE Electronics' integrated capsule shockmount, which decouples the capsule from handling vibration. An internal windscreen helps reduce wind noise and plosive sounds during close vocal use. The windscreen is switchable, and a spare red internal windscreen is included.

For a practical live-sound or content-creation setup, the V7 CHROME can serve as a primary wired vocal microphone or as a flexible microphone for speech, guitar cabinets, and drums. Its 3-pin male XLR output supports standard balanced microphone cabling. A mic clip, thread adapter, and carrying pouch are included to support stand mounting and transport.

Design & Installation

The V7 CHROME uses an all-metal housing with a chrome-plated finish, a durable zinc-alloy chassis, and a beveled spring-steel grille. The grille's beveled edge helps keep the microphone from rolling when placed on a flat surface. Its integrated shockmount is designed to isolate the capsule from mechanical vibration.

Connect the microphone's 3-pin male XLR output to a compatible XLR microphone cable, then route the cable to a mixer, PA input, microphone preamp, or audio interface. Use the included mic clip and thread adapter to mount it on a stand, or use it handheld for vocals and speech. For strongest source isolation, position the front of the microphone toward the performer or instrument and aim its rear rejection area toward unwanted sound where practical.
