sE Electronics V7 BLACK Dynamic Vocal Microphone

The sE Electronics V7 BLACK is a wired handheld dynamic microphone designed for vocals, speech, rehearsal, live performance, and instrument capture. Its supercardioid pickup pattern focuses on the intended source while helping reduce surrounding stage sound. The all-black finish gives the microphone a clean, understated appearance for stage or studio use.

This microphone is suited to singers, presenters, podcasters, rehearsal spaces, and performers who need an XLR vocal microphone with focused pickup. Its dynamic capsule does not require external microphone power for operation. The V7 BLACK can also be used on suitable instruments where a robust dynamic microphone is preferred.

The V7 BLACK uses a custom aluminum voice coil and neodymium magnet in its dynamic capsule. Its published frequency range is 40 Hz to 19 kHz, with a sensitivity of 2.0 mV/Pa. This combination is intended to provide a clear, open vocal character while retaining the durability expected from a handheld stage microphone.

A supercardioid polar pattern helps isolate the sound source from stage bleed and can support useful gain before feedback when the sound system is set up correctly. The patented integrated shockmount decouples the capsule from mechanical vibration to reduce handling and rumble noise. A switchable internal windscreen helps control wind noise and vocal plosives.

The V7 BLACK connects through a standard 3-pin male XLR output and is intended for mixers, microphone preamps, audio interfaces, and PA systems with compatible XLR microphone inputs. It is not a car stereo receiver or a direct replacement for an OEM hands-free microphone. A mic clip, thread adapter, spare red internal windscreen, and carrying pouch are included to support stand mounting and transport.

Design & Installation

The V7 BLACK has an all-metal chassis with a durable zinc-alloy housing, a black finish, and a beveled spring-steel grille. The grille's beveled edge is designed to help keep the microphone from rolling when placed down. Its integrated shockmount and internal windscreen are built into the handheld microphone design.

Connect the microphone's 3-pin male XLR output to an XLR microphone input on a mixer, PA system, recording interface, or compatible preamp using an appropriate XLR cable. Secure it in the included mic clip for stand use, using the supplied thread adapter when required by the stand. For best feedback control, position PA speakers away from the microphone's pickup area and aim the microphone toward the intended voice or instrument.
