sE Electronics V Pack Arena 7-Piece Drum Microphone Kit

The sE Electronics V Pack Arena is a complete seven-microphone drum kit package for recording, rehearsal, and live sound applications. It provides dedicated microphones for kick drum, toms, snare, and overhead capture in one coordinated system. The set is designed for drummers, engineers, venues, and studios that need practical full-kit coverage without assembling each microphone separately.

The package includes a V KICK for bass drum, three V BEAT microphones with V CLAMP rim mounts for toms, a V7 X dynamic microphone for snare or other instruments, and a factory-matched pair of sE8 condensers for overheads. This layout supports a typical five-piece kit while leaving room to expand a larger setup with additional microphones. A rugged V CASE keeps the complete set organized for transport and storage.

The V KICK uses a supercardioid dynamic capsule and two selectable voicing switches to provide four tonal approaches for bass drum capture. Its compact body, integrated swivel mount, and focused pickup pattern make it suitable for positioning inside or outside a kick drum. The V BEAT microphones use supercardioid dynamic capsules to capture tom or snare attack while helping reduce pickup from nearby cymbals and drums.

The V7 X supplies a full-range dynamic option for snare drum, guitar cabinets, horns, percussion, and other high-level sources. Its custom DMC7 X capsule uses an aluminum voice coil, neodymium magnet, integrated capsule suspension, and a supercardioid pattern. For the cymbals and overall kit image, the matched sE8 pair uses true-condenser capsules, transformerless Class-A circuitry, selectable pads, and switchable low-cut filters.

This system is well suited to interfaces, mixers, and stage boxes with enough XLR microphone inputs to run all seven microphones at once. The two sE8 overhead microphones require 48V phantom power, while the dynamic V KICK, V BEAT, and V7 X microphones do not require phantom power. The V Pack Arena can serve as a complete starting point for drum miking or as the core of a larger multi-microphone drum setup.

Design & Installation

The V Pack Arena combines all-metal microphone construction with a protective V CASE designed for organized transport. The V KICK and V BEAT use dynamic capsules with aluminum voice coils and neodymium magnets, while the V7 X has a zinc-alloy body, spring-steel grille, and gold-plated XLR connection. The sE8 microphones use all-metal housings, gold-plated XLR connectors, and handcrafted 1/2-inch true-condenser capsules.

Mount each V BEAT to a snare or tom rim using a V CLAMP, then adjust the clamp rod and microphone swivel to aim at the desired area of the drumhead. Use the V KICK on a stand or its integrated swivel mount at the bass drum, place the V7 X on a standard mic stand or clip for snare duty, and position the sE8 pair above the kit with appropriate stereo spacing. Connect all microphones by standard 3-pin XLR; enable 48V phantom power only for the two sE8 condensers.
