Ortofon ELITE Concorde Elite Replacement Stylus

The Ortofon ELITE is the dedicated replacement stylus for the Concorde MKII Elite cartridge. It restores the intended stylus assembly for owners replacing a worn or damaged Elite stylus without replacing the complete cartridge. This is a turntable component, not a car-audio speaker or receiver.

Designed for record listeners and DJs who prioritize detailed vinyl playback, the ELITE uses a nude elliptical diamond profile. Its reduced moving mass and slim contact profile are intended to follow groove modulation accurately and retrieve high-frequency information. Ortofon specifies this stylus for listening rather than intensive back-cueing or scratching.

The stylus uses a rigid aluminum-magnesium cantilever developed for the Concorde Elite system. This cantilever transfers groove movement to the cartridge's generator while supporting the Elite's 100 µm tracking ability specification at the recommended tracking force. The intended system output is 8.5 mV at 1 kHz and 5 cm/sec.

A specially molded stylus body with genuine gold plating gives the ELITE its distinctive black-and-gold appearance. The assembly is purpose-built for the Concorde MKII Elite, whose design also incorporates a dedicated rubber suspension and coil system. Its nude elliptical diamond has an r/R 8/18 µm tip radius.

For an existing Concorde MKII Elite cartridge, the ELITE provides a direct replacement path that retains the cartridge's specified electrical and tracking characteristics. Set tracking force within the stated 2.0 to 4.0 g range, with 3.0 g recommended by Ortofon. Use it with a properly configured turntable and phono stage suited to the cartridge system.

Its diamond profile and cantilever are designed specifically around the Elite cartridge's suspension and generator arrangement.

This stylus is intended only for the Concorde MKII Elite cartridge body; it is not a standalone cartridge. Install it as the replacement stylus assembly on a compatible Concorde MKII Elite, then set the turntable tonearm to Ortofon's recommended 3.0 g tracking force. The supported tracking-force range is 2.0 to 4.0 g, and the nude elliptical stylus should be reserved for playback rather than intensive scratching or back-cueing.
