Mackie THUMPGO 8" Portable Battery-Powered Loudspeaker

The Mackie THUMPGO Thump GO is an 8-inch portable battery-powered loudspeaker designed for compact PA, music playback, presentations, karaoke, and personal monitoring. It provides a self-powered solution when running AC power is inconvenient or unavailable. The removable lithium-ion battery supports portable use while the built-in IEC power connection allows operation and charging from AC power.

This loudspeaker is suited to singer-songwriters, small events, cafés, classrooms, conference rooms, announcements, and backyard gatherings. Its two-channel digital mixer accepts microphones, line-level sources, and a 3.5 mm stereo source, reducing the need for a separate mixer in simple setups. An XLR thru output also makes it practical to send the mixed signal onward to another compatible speaker or audio device.

The Thump GO combines an 8-inch custom high-output woofer with a 1-inch polymer compression driver. Its Class-D amplifier system is rated at 200 watts peak, with dedicated amplification for the low- and high-frequency drivers. Precision digital crossover processing, driver alignment, and smart limiting are built in to support controlled operation.

Bluetooth 5.0 supports wireless music streaming and user-interface control through the Mackie Thump Connect 2 app. The app provides access to input gain, two-band user EQ, level, and mute controls. A second Thump GO can be linked by Bluetooth for music playback and control.

Practical sound-shaping tools help the speaker adapt to different environments and uses. Four speaker modes, Indoor and Outdoor voicing modes, a Feedback Eliminator, and Music Ducking are included. Music Ducking automatically reduces Channel 2 level when Channel 1 receives signal, which can help keep speech or announcements clear over background music.

Design & Installation

The Thump GO uses an asymmetrical polypropylene enclosure with a black textured finish, a perforated metal grille with weather-resistant coating, and a powder-coated black grille finish. Its molded enclosure is designed for portability, with one integrated handle and a listed product weight of 17.6 pounds. The cabinet can also be placed at a 45-degree monitor angle for floor-monitor use.

Use the built-in bottom socket to mount the speaker on a suitable pole, or position it on the floor as a monitor; Mackie specifies that the supporting pole must be capable of handling the speaker's weight. The cabinet is not designed for suspension, has no rigging points, and should never be hung by its handle. Connect microphones or balanced line sources to the combo inputs, use the 3.5 mm input for compatible stereo devices, or stream wirelessly through Bluetooth.
