Mackie SRM215 V-Class 15" Powered Loudspeaker

The Mackie SRM215 V-Class is a self-powered 15-inch loudspeaker designed for portable PA, DJ playback, live performance, presentations, and stage-monitor duties. Its built-in amplification and mixer reduce the need for separate power amplifiers or a basic external mixer in smaller systems. It is intended for users who need a full-range speaker with flexible input options and onboard control.

A 15-inch low-frequency driver handles the main low and midrange content, while a 1.4-inch polymer compression driver covers high frequencies. The system is rated for a 40 Hz to 20 kHz frequency range at -10 dB and up to 136 dB peak SPL. This makes it suitable for applications where clear vocal projection and substantial full-range output are needed from one enclosure.

The SRM215 V-Class uses a 2,000-watt peak Class-D amplifier platform with separate low- and high-frequency amplification. Advanced Impulse DSP provides crossover processing and time alignment, while system protection monitors operating conditions. Intelligent Bass Management is included to help maintain tonal balance at higher output levels.

Its SRM Mix Control digital mixer provides two XLR/TRS combo input channels, a stereo 1/8-inch input, direct outputs, and a balanced mix output. A color TFT display and rotary control give access to levels, EQ, voicing, subwoofer settings, delay, and other system functions. Bluetooth supports music streaming, speaker linking, and remote control through the SRM Connect app.

The enclosure can be used upright as a main PA speaker or laid horizontally as a 45-degree floor monitor. It also supports pole mounting from its built-in bottom socket and suspended installation using integrated M10 fly points. For expanded systems, it can be paired with another SRM V-Class speaker or integrated with a compatible powered subwoofer.

Design & Installation

The SRM215 V-Class uses an asymmetrical black polypropylene enclosure with a light textured finish. Its grille is made from 16-18 gauge perforated steel with nylon net backing and a powder-coated black finish. Two side handles and a partial top handle assist with transport, while front Power/Signal and rear Speaker Control LEDs provide operating status.

Connect microphones, line-level sources, or a Hi-Z instrument to the combo inputs, and use the stereo 1/8-inch input for compatible playback devices. For larger systems, use the direct or mix outputs to feed additional loudspeakers, or configure the subwoofer high-pass filter when integrating a subwoofer. The cabinet may be floor mounted, pole mounted, used as a wedge monitor, or flown with correctly rated M10 x 1.5 x 20 mm forged shoulder eyebolts and appropriate hardware.
