Mackie THUMP15v4 15" Powered PA Loudspeaker

The Mackie THUMP15v4 is a 15-inch professional powered loudspeaker designed for portable PA, DJ playback, live performance, announcements, and event sound. Its integrated amplification and built-in mixer reduce the need for separate power amps or a basic external mixer in many setups. It is suited to musicians, DJs, presenters, venues, schools, houses of worship, and event operators who need a self-powered full-range speaker.

A 15-inch ferrite woofer and 1-inch compression driver deliver broad full-range coverage for music and speech. The THUMP15v4 is rated for up to 130 dB peak SPL and has a 41 Hz to 20 kHz frequency response at -3 dB. This makes it appropriate for applications where strong low-frequency output is useful without immediately adding a subwoofer.

SoundCheck DSP provides selectable Flat, DJ, Live, and Wedge voicing modes to adapt the speaker to different roles. Outdoor Mode is available to compensate for high-frequency loss in outdoor use, while Music Ducking can lower music when a microphone signal is present. The built-in Feedback Eliminator can be switched on to help reduce microphone feedback during operation.

The rear-panel mixer supports two XLR/TRS combo inputs, a 1/8-inch TRS input, Bluetooth audio streaming, and a balanced XLR mix output. Channel 1 includes a mic/line switch for connecting a microphone or line-level source. Bluetooth 5.0 also supports wireless control through the Thump Connect 2 app.

For expanded systems, two compatible speakers can be wirelessly linked for stereo, zone, or dual-mono playback. The speaker can be used on the floor, mounted on a pole using its built-in socket, or suspended from its integrated M10 mounting points when installed by qualified personnel. It can also be paired with a compatible powered subwoofer when greater low-frequency extension is needed.

Design & Installation

The THUMP15v4 uses a rugged, modern cabinet with premium metal carrying handles for portable use. Its acoustic design combines a 15-inch ferrite low-frequency driver with a 1-inch high-temperature polymeric compression driver. Front-panel LED operation, status LEDs, peak/RMS limiting, and thermal protection support practical use in live-sound environments.

Connect sources through the XLR/TRS combo inputs, 1/8-inch TRS input, or Bluetooth connection, then use the balanced XLR mix output to feed another speaker or audio device. The enclosure may be floor-mounted, pole-mounted through the built-in bottom socket, or flown from its three M10 points using specified M10 x 1.5 x 17 mm forged shoulder eyebolts. A pole, fly hardware, speaker bags, and rolling bags are optional accessories rather than included installation hardware.
