The Mackie THUMP215XT is a 15-inch enhanced powered loudspeaker for portable PA, DJ, live-performance, rehearsal, and presentation systems. Its self-powered design eliminates the need to match a separate external amplifier to the speaker. It is suited to users who want a single loudspeaker that can serve as a main PA speaker, stage monitor, or part of a larger sound system.

A 15-inch low-frequency driver and 1-inch compression driver cover the range needed for music playback and amplified live sound. The cabinet is specified for a maximum peak SPL of 129 dB, with a frequency range extending to 40 Hz at -10 dB. This makes it appropriate for applications where substantial low-frequency output and clear high-frequency coverage are needed from one enclosure.

The integrated Class-D amplifier system is rated at 1,400 watts peak, divided between 1,200 watts peak for the low-frequency section and 200 watts peak for the high-frequency section. Electronic crossover processing at 2.1 kHz directs the signal to the appropriate driver. Peak and RMS limiting, along with power-supply and amplifier thermal protection, help manage operation at higher levels.

Built-in processing provides four application-specific voicing modes: Music, Live, Club, and Monitor. Outdoor Mode adjusts voicing for open-air use, while Music Ducking reduces channel 2 when a microphone signal is present on channel 1. The onboard Feedback Eliminator can automatically apply up to six notch filters to channel 1.

The THUMP215XT includes a two-channel input section, a 3.5 mm auxiliary input, and a balanced XLR thru output for expanding a wired system. Bluetooth supports wireless music streaming and can link two compatible ThumpXT loudspeakers for playback; the Thump Connect 2 app adds wireless control features. Use one as a compact standalone PA, pair two for stereo coverage, or combine them with compatible subwoofers when the application calls for more low-frequency extension.

Key Features

  • 15-Inch Two-Way Design: Combines a large woofer with a 1-inch compression driver for full-range PA use.
  • 1,400W Peak Class-D Amplification: Provides onboard amplification without requiring a separate power amp.
  • Application Voicing Modes: Music, Live, Club, and Monitor modes tailor the speaker response to common uses.
  • Outdoor Mode: Adjusts voicing to help compensate for outdoor acoustic conditions.
  • Bluetooth Streaming And Linking: Streams audio wirelessly and links two ThumpXT speakers for playback.
  • Feedback And Ducking Tools: Helps manage microphone feedback and lowers music during announcements.

Design & Installation

The THUMP215XT uses a molded cabinet with a 15-inch ferrite-equipped low-frequency driver and a 1-inch polymer compression driver. Its enclosure is designed for floor placement, pole mounting through the built-in bottom socket, or monitor-wedge use at a 40-degree angle. Integrated M10 mounting points support permanent-install rigging when used with appropriate hardware and qualified installation practices.

Connect microphones or line-level sources to the two XLR/1/4-inch combo inputs, or use the 3.5 mm input for a line-level portable device. Use the XLR thru output to daisy-chain additional powered loudspeakers, and use the included detachable IEC power cord with a properly grounded AC outlet. For flown installations, use suitable M10 x 1.5 x 20 mm forged shoulder eyebolts and ensure the rigging system is professionally engineered for the load.
