Mackie THUMP212XT 12" Powered Loudspeaker

The Mackie THUMP212XT is a self-powered 12-inch PA loudspeaker designed for portable sound reinforcement, playback, and stage-monitor duties. Its built-in amplification removes the need for a separate external power amp, helping simplify setups for performers, DJs, venues, and presentation systems. Two input channels, Bluetooth streaming, and a balanced Thru output provide flexible ways to connect sources and expand a system.

A 12-inch woofer and 1-inch polymer compression driver deliver wide-range sound from a compact molded enclosure. The system is rated at 1400 watts peak, with dedicated Class-D amplification for the low- and high-frequency drivers. Its specified frequency range reaches from 47 Hz to 23 kHz at -10 dB, with a 128 dB peak maximum SPL.

The THUMP212XT includes four application-specific voicing modes: Music, Live, Club, and Monitor. These modes help tailor the system response for recorded music, vocal performance, DJ playback, or floor-monitor placement. An Outdoor mode is also provided to optimize voicing for open-air use.

Built-in processing supports practical live-sound operation without requiring an external processor for every function. The Feedback Eliminator applies automatic notch filters to help control feedback, while Music Ducking lowers Channel 2 when signal is detected on Channel 1. Thump Connect 2 app support adds wireless control of functions including input gains, two-band EQ, level, and mute.

For system growth, the THUMP212XT can wirelessly link with a second ThumpXT loudspeaker for stereo or dual-zone playback through the app. It can also be used with a subwoofer by feeding the loudspeaker from the subwoofer's high-pass output. With pole-mount, monitor-wedge, and M10 fly-point options, it can adapt from a compact mobile PA to a more permanent installed system.

Design & Installation

The THUMP212XT uses a molded cabinet designed for portable PA use. Its enclosure supports upright placement, pole mounting through the built-in bottom socket, horizontal monitor-wedge placement at a 40-degree angle, and suspension through integrated M10 mounting points. A front LED can be switched on or off, and the cabinet uses a rotatable logo for monitor orientation.

Connect microphones, mixers, instruments with appropriate line-level outputs, or playback devices to the rear-panel inputs, then use the channel gain and main volume controls to set levels. For a larger system, use the balanced XLR Thru output to daisy-chain additional loudspeakers or connect a second ThumpXT wirelessly for linked playback. Use a stable, weight-rated speaker stand or pole when elevated, and have qualified personnel handle any flown installation.
