The Nordstrand SB5-N neck and SB5-B bridge pickups use Alnico V magnets and provide a two-pickup platform for blending different bass voices. A 2-way toggle selects active or passive operation, allowing the bass to continue producing output when the active circuit is bypassed. A separate 3-way variable mid-frequency switch adds another layer of midrange targeting when using the active EQ. This layout gives players practical control over pickup balance, EQ contour, and operating mode without changing instruments.

The neck-through-body construction joins a 5-piece maple and walnut neck to the body and adds graphite reinforcement for stability.
