The Jackson X Series Spectra Bass SBXP V is a right-handed, 35-inch-scale five-string electric bass built for players who need extended low range and flexible onboard tone control. Its offset Spectra body is designed with a larger upper horn to help distribute the instrument's weight while playing. The Transparent Purple Burst finish pairs a satin poplar body with a figured poplar burl top.

This bass is suited to players moving into five-string arrangements, as well as working musicians who want active and passive operating options in one instrument. Two Jackson medium-output humbucking pickups provide the pickup platform, while a blend control lets the player combine the neck and bridge positions. A two-way toggle provides pickup coil splitting for additional voicing options.

Its electronics combine a volume control, blend control and 3-band active EQ for practical sound shaping at an amplifier, recording interface or pedalboard. The volume control includes a push/pull selector that engages or bypasses the active EQ circuit. With the circuit bypassed, the bass can still pass signal without relying on the active EQ.

The through-body maple neck uses graphite reinforcement and a scarf joint, supporting a stable long-scale playing platform. Jackson's Speed Neck profile joins a bound laurel fingerboard with a 12- to 16-inch compound radius. The board carries 24 jumbo frets and white dot position inlays for access across its full range.

A Jackson HiMass bridge and sealed die-cast tuners complete the hardware package. The bass ships strung with nickel-plated-steel strings in .045-.130 gauges, matching its five-string, 35-inch scale format. The SBXP V uses a satin-finished poplar Spectra body with a poplar burl top, black hardware and a color-matched Jackson 3x2 headstock. The fingerboard is laurel, fitted with 24 jumbo frets, white dot inlays and a black plastic nut.

As an electric bass, the SBXP V connects to a bass amplifier, DI, recording interface or effects chain using a standard instrument cable. Set the push/pull volume control to choose active-EQ or passive-bypass operation, use the blend and coil-split switch to establish the pickup voice, then shape the active mode with the 3-band EQ.
