The Fender Rumble 25 V3 120 is a compact solid-state bass combo amplifier built for personal practice, home playing, and small performance settings. Its self-contained design combines a 25-watt amplifier and an 8-inch Fender Special Design speaker, so a separate bass cabinet is not required. It gives bass players a straightforward way to amplify an electric bass with dedicated tone controls and onboard practice connections.

A ported enclosure helps the compact cabinet support a fuller low-frequency character than a sealed practice amp of similar size. The single 8-ohm, 8-inch speaker is driven by 25 watts into 8 ohms, providing a focused bass sound in a portable format. Volume, bass, mid, and treble controls let players make practical adjustments for different instruments and rooms.

The selectable overdrive circuit adds preamp distortion without requiring an external overdrive pedal. A separate Contour switch applies a mid-scoop filter for a different tonal balance, while the three-band EQ remains available for further adjustment. These controls make it easy to move from a more direct bass tone to a scooped or driven sound from the top-mounted panel.

For practice, the Rumble 25 V3 120 includes a 1/8-inch stereo auxiliary input for connecting a compatible media player. The auxiliary-input level and tone are adjusted at the connected source, keeping backing-track control simple. Its 1/4-inch headphone output automatically mutes the internal speaker when headphones are connected.

This combo is a practical standalone starting point for a bassist who needs an amplifier, speaker, headphone connection, and auxiliary playback input in one enclosure. It uses a standard 1/4-inch instrument input for the bass and a 120V AC power connection. Because it has no line output, effects loop, or speaker jack, it is intended primarily as a self-contained bass combo rather than an expandable amplifier head.

Key Features

  • 25-Watt Bass Amplifier: Delivers 25 watts into the built-in 8-ohm speaker for amplified bass practice and small-scale use.
  • 8-Inch Special Design Speaker: A Fender Special Design speaker is housed in a ported combo enclosure.
  • Switchable Overdrive: Activates onboard preamp overdrive for a driven bass sound without an external pedal.
  • Contour Switch: Applies a mid-scoop filter for an alternate tonal voicing.
  • Three-Band EQ: Bass, mid, and treble controls provide hands-on tone adjustment.
  • Auxiliary And Headphone Connections: Play along with a 1/8-inch source and practice privately through headphones.

Design & Installation

The Rumble 25 V3 120 has a black textured-vinyl exterior, painted-metal front panel, silver grille cloth, vintage-style radio knobs, and a molded plastic strap handle with nickel-plated caps. Its cabinet measures 15.25 inches wide, 15.25 inches high, and 11 inches deep, with a listed weight of 21 pounds. The enclosure is ported and uses a removable grille.

Connect an electric bass to the 1/4-inch instrument input with a standard instrument cable, then connect the supplied IEC power cord to a grounded 120V AC outlet. For backing tracks, connect a compatible media player to the 1/8-inch stereo Aux In and adjust that source's volume independently. Use stereo headphones with a minimum 32-ohm impedance for quiet practice; inserting the headphone plug mutes the combo's internal speaker.
