Zoom INST-P01PC Instamic Pro Plus C Stereo/Mono Recorder

The Zoom INST-P01PC Instamic Pro Plus C is an ultra-compact wearable audio recorder and Bluetooth microphone for video creators, musicians, podcasters, and field recordists. It records directly to internal memory, giving users a self-contained way to capture audio when a conventional wired microphone would be impractical. Its small format is well suited to discreet placement on clothing, props, vehicles, and compact camera rigs.

This Stereo/Mono version combines a four-microphone top array with two lateral microphones for mono, dual-mono, stereo, and mid-side recording options. The mono modes suit interviews, narration, and focused voice capture, while stereo and mid-side modes provide additional spatial flexibility for ambience and music. Audio is recorded as WAV files at 24-bit or 32-bit float resolution.

In mono mode, dual A/D converters and 32-bit float recording help accommodate very quiet and very loud source material without digital clipping. The omnidirectional MEMS microphone system covers a 40 Hz to 20 kHz frequency range and handles sound-pressure levels up to 135 dB SPL. This makes the recorder practical for dialogue, performances, sound effects, and unpredictable location work.

The Instamic Pro Plus C also works as a Bluetooth microphone with compatible phones, computers, apps, and supported action cameras. The Instamic Remote app for iOS and Android provides remote control, live monitoring, timecode functions, and EQ adjustment. A single mobile device can control up to 10 compatible Instamic units.

For organized multi-camera or multi-recorder workflows, the unit includes an internal timecode reference and supports compatible Atomos UltraSync Blue and Tentacle Sync E systems. Its 16 GB internal memory supports extended standalone recording, while USB-C is used for charging and file transfer. IP67 protection adds resistance to dust and water for demanding outdoor or on-location use.

Design & Installation

The Instamic Pro Plus C measures only 1.5 x 1 x 0.5 inches and weighs 18 grams. Its Soft-Touch Matte Black finish, integrated microphone array, USB-C connector, and three LED indicators keep the recorder compact and easy to place in visible or concealed positions. The LEDs indicate battery and charging level, recording input level, and available internal storage.

Use the included magnetic mount, adhesive mount, or Velcro mount to position the recorder on suitable surfaces or gear. Connect the included USB charging cable to a computer or USB power charger for charging, and use USB-C to transfer WAV files to a computer. For mobile control, monitoring, settings, and timecode management, pair the recorder with the Instamic Remote app on a compatible iOS or Android device.
