Design & Installation

The SM58-CN has an enamel-painted die-cast metal housing with a matte silver spherical steel-mesh grille. Its rugged handheld construction is paired with an internal pneumatic shock mount and integrated wind/pop filtering. The package includes a break-resistant swivel stand adapter and a zippered storage bag.

Connect the included XLR cable between the microphone's male XLR output and a low-impedance XLR microphone input on a mixer, PA system, recorder, or audio interface. For best rejection of unwanted sound, aim the microphone toward the performer and position loudspeakers behind the microphone. The swivel adapter mounts to a compatible microphone stand when hands-free use is preferred.
