Shure SLXD2+/B58=-G57 Wireless Handheld Transmitter

The Shure SLXD2+/B58=-G57 is a digital UHF handheld wireless transmitter fitted with a Beta 58A vocal microphone capsule. It is designed for performers, presenters, houses of worship, event teams, and production providers that need a dependable handheld transmitter within an SLX-D+ wireless system. This G57 version operates across the 470–608 MHz band and requires a compatible receiver to complete a working wireless channel.

The included Beta 58A capsule uses a supercardioid dynamic design suited to close-miked vocals and speech. Its tailored 50 Hz–16 kHz response supports clear vocal reproduction, while the focused pickup pattern helps reduce pickup from surrounding stage sound. The capsule is also interchangeable with compatible Shure handheld microphone cartridges.

SLX-D+ transmission uses 24-bit digital audio with a specified dynamic range greater than 118 dB. The system's 2.8 ms latency and under-0.02% total harmonic distortion support natural monitoring and clean signal delivery in live sound workflows. A selectable 160 Hz high-pass filter is available when low-frequency handling noise or rumble needs to be reduced.

For RF coordination, the SLX-D+ platform supports a 138 MHz tuning range in the G57 band, with up to 11 systems in 6 MHz TV channels or up to 14 systems in 8 MHz TV channels. Automatic Setup and interference-management functions work with compatible SLX-D+ receivers to help maintain an assigned link. AES-256 encryption is included for secure transmission.

The SLXD2+ integrates ShowLink Ease remote-management capability when linked with a compatible SLX-D+ receiver. Wireless Workbench desktop software and the WWB Mobile app can be used within a compatible system for monitoring and control. It is a practical expansion or replacement handheld for a G57 SLX-D+ setup, with either supplied AA batteries or an optional Shure SB903 rechargeable battery.

Design & Installation

The SLXD2+ uses an aluminum handheld housing with an integrated single-band helical antenna. Its metal construction is intended for regular professional handling, while the Beta 58A capsule provides a familiar handheld vocal-microphone format. The transmitter measures 37.1 mm in diameter by 176 mm long and weighs 144 g.

This transmitter is not a complete wireless system and must be paired with a compatible SLX-D+ receiver operating in the G57 frequency band. Install two 1.5 V AA batteries or an optional Shure SB903 battery, then link the transmitter and receiver using the system's IR synchronization process. Use receiver-based frequency coordination, gain setup, and optional ShowLink Ease management when operating multiple wireless channels.
