Mogami GOLD STAGE-30 30 Ft XLR Microphone Cable $144.95
Bundle total: $593.95

The Shure BLX24/B58-H9 is a single-channel UHF wireless vocal system built for performers, presenters, houses of worship, and event sound applications. It pairs a BLX4 tabletop receiver with a BLX2 handheld transmitter fitted with a Beta 58A vocal capsule. The H9 version operates in the 512–542 MHz band, so users should confirm that these frequencies are authorized and suitable for their location before purchase.

This system removes the restriction of a microphone cable while maintaining a direct, vocal-focused sound character. Its Beta 58A capsule uses a supercardioid pickup pattern to prioritize the performer while reducing pickup from off-axis sources. The shaped vocal response includes a brightened midrange and bass roll-off intended to support clear close-miked vocals.

The BLX platform is designed for straightforward operation in portable and installed sound systems. A one-touch group scan on the receiver locates an available group and channel, after which the transmitter can be matched to the receiver. The receiver's audio LED shows normal level in green and overload in red to assist with gain setup.

The BLX2/B58 handheld transmitter provides up to 14 hours of operating time from two AA alkaline batteries. Its selectable gain settings include a default setting and a -10 dB attenuated setting for louder vocal sources. With a specified line-of-sight working range of up to 300 feet, it suits stages, meeting spaces, rehearsal rooms, and mobile PA setups.

The BLX24/B58-H9 integrates easily with mixers, powered speakers, amplifiers, and PA systems through its XLR microphone-level and 1/4-inch instrument-level receiver outputs. The included handheld microphone setup is ready for vocal use, while the receiver supplies the wireless audio connection to the rest of the sound system. Multiple BLX systems can be coordinated, with up to 12 systems operating simultaneously depending on band and RF environment.

Key Features

  • H9 UHF Band: Operates from 512–542 MHz; verify local frequency authorization before use.
  • Beta 58A Capsule: Supercardioid dynamic vocal capsule helps isolate the intended voice.
  • QuickScan Setup: Receiver group scan helps find an available operating channel.
  • 300-Foot Range: Supports up to 91 m (300 ft) line-of-sight operation.
  • 14-Hour Battery Life: BLX2 transmitter runs up to 14 hours on two AA alkaline batteries.
  • Flexible Audio Outputs: BLX4 receiver provides balanced XLR and 1/4-inch audio outputs.

Design & Installation

The BLX4 receiver and BLX2 handheld transmitter use molded ABS housings. The integrated Beta 58A capsule combines a die-cast metal body, hardened steel mesh grille, neodymium magnet, internal pop filter, and pneumatic shock mount system. The transmitter includes a black identification cap and a front display for group and channel settings.

Place the BLX4 receiver where it has a clear line of sight to the transmitter and away from metal obstructions or nearby wireless interference sources. Connect its XLR microphone output or 1/4-inch instrument-level output to a mixer, powered speaker, or amplifier, then connect the included PS24 power supply. Run a group scan, set the BLX2 transmitter to the matching group and channel, and use the transmitter's -10 dB setting if the receiver audio LED frequently shows overload.
