Mogami GOLD STAGE-50 50 Ft XLR Microphone Cable $194.95
Bundle total: $883.95

The Shure BLX188/CVL-H10 is a dual-channel wireless lavalier microphone system for two presenters, speakers, instructors, or performers. It combines a BLX88 dual receiver, two BLX1 bodypack transmitters, and two CVL cardioid lavalier microphones in one coordinated package. The H10 version operates in the 542–572 MHz UHF band, so purchasers should confirm that this frequency range is authorized and workable at their location before use.

This system helps two people speak hands-free while maintaining separate wireless channels at the receiver. The CVL microphones are compact clip-on electret condenser lavaliers designed for speech and presentation use. Their cardioid pickup pattern is intended to favor the wearer’s voice while reducing sound arriving from behind the microphone.

For portable presentations and installed sound systems, the BLX platform provides an analog wireless signal path with a specified working range of up to 300 feet line-of-sight. Actual operating distance can vary with obstructions, RF interference, reflections, and signal absorption. The system’s audio frequency response is specified at 50 Hz to 15 kHz overall, while the included CVL microphone is rated from 60 Hz to 12 kHz.

Setup is designed around Shure QuickScan frequency selection, which finds an available group and channel for the receiver. The BLX88 uses microprocessor-controlled internal antenna diversity and provides individual XLR and 1/4-inch audio outputs for connection to a mixer, powered speaker, amplifier, or installed PA system. Two-color receiver audio LEDs show normal signal level in green and overload in red.

Each BLX1 bodypack is powered by two AA alkaline batteries and is rated for up to 14 hours of operation. The supplied CVL lavaliers connect to the bodypacks through TA4F connectors, and each includes a clip and windscreen for wearable speech applications. As needs grow, the BLX platform can support up to 12 compatible systems per frequency band, depending on region and RF environment.

Key Features

  • Dual-Presenter Wireless System: Supports two separate lavalier microphone users through one dual-channel receiver.
  • H10 UHF Band: Operates across the 542–572 MHz frequency range.
  • CVL Cardioid Lavaliers: Hands-free microphones are tailored for speech and presentation use.
  • QuickScan Setup: One-touch scanning helps locate an available operating frequency.
  • Up To 300-Foot Range: Rated for 91 m line-of-sight operation under suitable conditions.
  • Long AA Battery Life: Each BLX1 bodypack runs up to 14 hours on alkaline AA batteries.

Design & Installation

The BLX88 receiver and BLX1 bodypack transmitters use molded ABS housings for lightweight, practical deployment. The CVL microphones use a compact clip-on form factor that keeps the microphone visually discreet for presentations, interviews, lectures, and similar spoken-word applications. Receiver status indicators and displays provide visible group, channel, ready, and audio-level information during operation.

Connect the BLX88 to a mixer, powered speaker, or amplifier using its XLR or 1/4-inch outputs, then connect the PS24 power supply and power on the receiver. Fit each CVL windscreen, clip the microphone 6–10 inches from the speaker’s mouth, connect its TA4F plug to a BLX1 bodypack, and match each transmitter’s group and channel to its receiver channel. For reliable results, keep a clear line of sight where possible, scan with nearby RF equipment powered on, and avoid placing the receiver near dense metal objects or wireless interference sources.
