Shure BLX1288/CVL-H11 Dual Wireless Mic System

The Shure BLX1288/CVL-H11 is a dual-channel wireless microphone system that combines a PG58 handheld vocal microphone and a CVL lavalier microphone. It is designed for situations where two presenters or performers need independent wireless audio through one receiver. The H11 version operates in the 572–596 MHz frequency band.

The included BLX88 receiver provides two separate wireless channels, allowing the handheld transmitter and bodypack transmitter to operate at the same time. This makes the system practical for presentations, worship services, event hosting, karaoke, classroom use, and live vocal applications. Separate XLR and 1/4-inch audio outputs let the receiver connect to a mixer, PA system, or compatible audio input.

The PG58 handheld transmitter is suited to vocal use, while the CVL lavalier provides a discreet clip-on option for speech and hands-free presentation. The system's analog wireless design is intended to deliver clear, direct sound with simple operation. Shure specifies an operating range of up to 300 feet line-of-sight, with actual results affected by RF conditions and obstructions.

One-touch QuickScan frequency selection helps identify an available group and channel for setup. Each transmitter uses two AA batteries and is rated for up to 14 hours of operation with alkaline cells. The BLX88 receiver supports two channels in a compact desktop format, helping reduce the equipment needed for a two-person wireless setup.

Design & Installation

The BLX88 receiver, BLX1 bodypack, and BLX2 handheld transmitter use molded ABS housings. The receiver is a compact dual-channel unit with integrated antennas, while the bodypack includes a belt clip for wearable placement. The CVL lavalier uses a TA4F connector and includes a lavalier clip for clothing attachment.

Place the receiver where it has a clear path to the transmitters and keep it away from nearby interference sources and large metal surfaces where possible. Connect either the XLR mic-level outputs or 1/4-inch unbalanced outputs to a mixer or sound system, then use QuickScan and match the transmitter group and channel to each receiver channel. Install two AA batteries in each transmitter and use the included mic clip, swivel adapter, thread adapter, lavalier clip, and windscreens as needed.
