sE Electronics V CLAMP Drum Microphone Mount

The sE Electronics V CLAMP is a compact rim-mounting system for placing a microphone on snare drums and toms. It attaches directly to the drum hoop, helping reduce the stand clutter often associated with close drum miking. Its low-profile format is intended for live stages, rehearsal spaces, and recording setups where space around the kit is limited.

Designed as a companion for the sE Electronics V BEAT microphone, the V CLAMP adds vertical positioning adjustment to the mic setup. This lets the user place a microphone closer to the drumhead or farther away as needed for the desired balance of attack, resonance, and nearby-drum isolation. The mount itself does not produce or process sound; its role is to support repeatable microphone placement.

An elastic rim clamp provides tool-free attachment and removal on compatible snare and tom hoops. The design is suitable for standard flanged and die-cast hoops, allowing quick repositioning during a setup, changeover, or recording session. A metal adjustment rod supports controlled microphone height placement above the drum.

The V CLAMP also provides rotational adjustment, giving users more control over microphone orientation within a compact footprint. Together with its vertical adjustment, the mount offers three axes of movement for tailoring placement around crowded drum configurations. This can be useful when aiming a microphone to manage spill from adjacent drums and cymbals.

Its metal and high-grade thermoplastic construction is intended for regular live and studio use, with corrosion-resistant components. The V CLAMP uses a 3/8-inch mounting thread and is made primarily for the V BEAT, while its mounting format can also support other compatible drum microphone arrangements. It is a mount only; the V BEAT microphone is sold separately.

The compact body keeps the mounting hardware close to the drum rather than extending the footprint with a conventional floor stand.

To use it, secure the clamp to a compatible snare or tom hoop, attach compatible microphone hardware to the 3/8-inch thread, and set the microphone height and angle. The clamp is designed for fast tool-free mounting and removal. For V BEAT use, pair it with the separately sold microphone and route the cable through the small hole at the bottom of the rod with a suitable tie clip if cable organization is needed.
