RØDE WIMICROCW Wireless Microphone System for USB-C Phones

The RØDE WIMICROCW Wireless Micro is a compact two-person wireless microphone system designed for USB-C smartphones. Its plug-in receiver connects directly to a compatible phone, eliminating the need for a separate audio cable between the receiver and device. Two clip-on transmitters let creators capture voices from two subjects for interviews, social videos, presentations, and everyday mobile recording.

Each transmitter includes an omnidirectional microphone that captures sound from around the speaker for natural placement on clothing. The system uses RØDE’s patent-pending acoustic chamber design to help reduce the effects of wind noise and plosives. Intelligent GainAssist automatically manages recording levels to help keep dialogue balanced when speakers or environments change.

The WIMICROCW is suited to creators who want a simple mobile-audio upgrade without a complex wireless setup. The transmitters pair automatically with the receiver and are ready to use after being removed from the charging case. Integrated clips and included magnetic attachments provide flexible placement on a shirt, jacket, or other clothing.

For outdoor work, the transmitters have integrated wind protection and the package includes two furry windshields for additional wind reduction. Each transmitter operates for up to seven hours on a charge, while the charging case provides two additional full charges. This gives the complete system up to 21 hours of total operating time.

The USB-C receiver supports compatible Android 11-or-later phones and iOS 14-or-later devices with USB-C connectivity. It can also function as a class-compliant USB audio interface with a computer for stereo or dual-mono recording. For expanded workflows, the system works with RØDE Central, RØDE Capture, RØDE Reporter, and RØDE Connect.

Design & Installation

The white WIMICROCW system uses ultra-compact transmitters, a low-profile USB-C receiver, and a pocket-sized charging case. Each transmitter has an integrated clothing clip and can also be paired with an included magnetic attachment for alternate mounting positions. The transmitters include built-in wind protection, and furry windshields are supplied for more challenging outdoor conditions.

Insert the USB-C receiver directly into a compatible smartphone, remove the paired transmitters from the charging case, and clip or magnetically mount them close to each speaker’s mouth. For outdoor recording, fit the furry windshields over the transmitters. Recharge the transmitters by returning them to the case, then recharge the case through its USB-C port using the included USB-C cable.
