The RØDE Wireless Micro is a compact two-person wireless microphone system designed to improve voice recording on USB-C smartphones. Its plug-in receiver connects directly to a compatible phone, avoiding the need for an audio cable between the receiver and device. This orange WIMICROCORA version includes two wearable transmitters for interviews, creator videos, social clips, and mobile recordings.

Each transmitter has an integrated omnidirectional microphone and a lightweight clip for fast placement on clothing. The included magnetic attachments provide another way to position the transmitters through a shirt, jacket, or collar. This makes the system practical for recording two speakers while keeping the microphone setup visually unobtrusive.

RØDE's GainAssist technology automatically manages audio levels to help produce balanced speech recordings in changing environments. The transmitters use a patent-pending acoustic chamber designed to reduce the effect of wind noise and plosives. Furry windshields are also included for added wind protection when recording outdoors.

The system is automatically paired out of the box, so the receiver and transmitters are ready for a straightforward mobile workflow. It records at 48 kHz and 24-bit resolution, with a stated transmission range of over 100 meters. The USB-C version is compatible with supported USB-C smartphones, tablets, and computers that accept USB audio.

A pocket-sized charging case stores and recharges the components between sessions. Each transmitter is rated for up to seven hours of operation, while the case supplies two additional charges for up to 21 hours of total transmitter use. For a phone-centered recording setup, the Wireless Micro provides a simple upgrade over relying on a smartphone's built-in microphones.

Design & Installation

The Wireless Micro uses an ultra-compact, lightweight transmitter design with integrated clips, magnetic attachments, and splashproof transmitter construction. This WIMICROCORA package uses orange transmitters, receiver, charging case, windshields, and cable accents. The supplied furry windshields slide over the transmitters for use in breezy outdoor conditions.

For setup, plug the USB-C receiver directly into a compatible phone or computer, then remove the transmitters from the charging case. The system is designed to pair automatically; clip each transmitter near the speaker's mouth or use the magnetic attachment through clothing. A thick or rugged phone case may block the receiver, so remove the case or use one that leaves the USB-C port clear when needed.
