RØDE WIGOGEN3PUR Wireless GO (Gen 3) Microphone System

The RØDE Wireless GO (Gen 3) is a compact dual-channel wireless microphone system for recording up to two people at once. It is designed for creators who need clearer dialogue than a camera or phone’s built-in microphone can typically provide. This purple WIGOGEN3PUR kit includes two transmitters and one receiver for interviews, vlogs, presentations, and mobile video production.

Each transmitter works as a clip-on microphone with an integrated omnidirectional capsule, or as a bodypack for a compatible external lavalier microphone. The 20 Hz–20 kHz frequency range supports natural voice capture, while the 123.5 dBSPL maximum level accommodates louder speech sources. A 72 dB signal-to-noise ratio and 22 dBA equivalent noise specification support clean spoken-word recording.

RØDE Series IV 2.4 GHz digital transmission sends audio to the receiver with 128-bit encryption and a stated line-of-sight range of up to 260 meters. The receiver can connect to cameras through its 3.5mm TRRS output or to phones and computers through USB-C. Its display and onboard controls provide access to recording, routing, gain, and connection information in the field.

Both transmitters feature 32-bit float onboard recording, providing a separate local backup when recording wirelessly. Each transmitter has 32GB of storage for more than 40 hours of backup recordings. This format can help recover recordings that were captured too quietly or clipped during production.

GainAssist offers Auto and Dynamic processing modes to manage changing voice levels, while manual input gain remains available in 1 dB increments. The receiver also supports merged, split, and safety-channel routing, with the safety channel recorded 10 dB below the main channel. The system can serve as a flexible starting point for a camera, smartphone, computer, or compatible RØDE Series IV wireless setup.

Design & Installation

The Wireless GO (Gen 3) uses compact clip-on transmitter and receiver housings, each measuring 46.5 x 44 x 20 mm. The transmitters weigh 35g each, while the receiver weighs 36g. The purple finish distinguishes this WIGOGEN3PUR version, and the transmitters include locking 3.5mm TRS microphone inputs for securely connected lavaliers.

For camera use, connect the receiver with the included SC2 3.5mm TRS-to-TRS cable and set the receiver output for the camera. For phones and computers, connect by USB-C; the package also includes USB-C-to-USB-C and USB-C-to-Lightning cables. Charge the receiver and both transmitters individually by USB-C or together with the included SC33 charging hub, then use the supplied furry windshields when recording outdoors.
