RØDE WIGOGEN3ORA Wireless GO (Gen 3) Microphone System

The RØDE Wireless GO (Gen 3) is a dual-channel compact wireless microphone system for recording up to two people with cameras, smartphones, tablets, and computers. This orange WIGOGEN3ORA kit pairs two clip-on transmitters with a receiver, helping creators capture dialogue without running a microphone cable to the recording device. It is suited to interviews, mobile video, presentations, streaming, and everyday content production.

Each transmitter has an integrated omnidirectional microphone and a locking 3.5mm TRS input for an optional external lavalier microphone. The system uses RØDE Series IV 2.4 GHz digital transmission with 128-bit encryption and is rated for up to 260 m line-of-sight range. Its compact format allows the transmitters to clip directly to clothing or be placed near the sound source.

For recording directly to a camera, GainAssist automatically manages microphone levels while the receiver offers flexible output gain adjustment and a safety-channel mode. This helps make level setup more manageable when recording changing voices or environments. The receiver also supports headphone monitoring with onboard level control.

Both transmitters provide 32-bit float onboard recording, creating a local backup that can be used if wireless audio is interrupted or if a recording needs level adjustment in post-production. Each transmitter includes 32GB of internal storage and supports more than 40 hours of backup recording. Recordings can be managed and exported using RØDE Central.

The receiver connects through its 3.5mm TRRS analog output for camera use or USB-C for digital connection to compatible computers and mobile devices. Included USB-C, Lightning, and 3.5mm camera cables cover common starting setups, while the SC33 charging hub charges the three main units together. It can serve as a self-contained wireless audio solution or as the wireless link in a setup using external lavalier microphones.

Design & Installation

The Wireless GO (Gen 3) uses compact clip-on transmitter and receiver units with USB-C connectors, integrated rechargeable lithium-ion batteries, and straightforward onboard controls. The receiver includes a bright LCD display, navigation controls, a routing-mode selector, and a 3.5mm TRRS connector. Each transmitter includes status LEDs, a record button, an integrated microphone, and a locking 3.5mm TRS input.

For a camera setup, mount the receiver where its 3.5mm output can reach the camera microphone input and use the included SC2 TRS-to-TRS cable. For computers and compatible mobile devices, connect the receiver through USB-C; use the included SC21 USB-C-to-Lightning cable for an iPhone with a Lightning port. Clip each transmitter to clothing, fit the included furry windshields when wind noise is a concern, and use RØDE Central to configure settings, update firmware, and export onboard recordings.
