Rockford Fosgate RFK-HD14M5 Harley Amplifier Install Kit

The Rockford Fosgate RFK-HD14M5 is a vehicle-specific amplifier installation kit for select 2014 and newer Harley-Davidson touring motorcycles. It supplies the mounting, power, signal, and speaker-integration components needed to add a compatible Rockford Fosgate motorcycle amplifier. Rather than requiring factory-wire cutting, the kit is built around plug-and-play harness integration.

This kit is for riders upgrading the audio system in a compatible Road Glide, Street Glide, Ultra, Tri Glide, or applicable CVO model. It pairs with the Rockford Fosgate M5-800X4 or TM400X4ad amplifier, which is sold separately. The kit itself does not add power or change sound character, but it provides the connection path for an amplified system upgrade.

At its center is an H-D radio T-harness that integrates the amplifier with the factory electrical system. The harness supports front-to-rear fader operation when the specified Rockford Fosgate radio flash is used. For factory amplified Harman Kardon systems, included bypass harnesses help accommodate the existing audio configuration.

The RFK-HD14M5 also includes a DSR1 loop-through connection for adding a Rockford Fosgate DSR1 signal processor separately. PC-OFC cable construction is used for the kit wiring, and the cable specification meets or exceeds applicable AWG requirements. A factory radio flash is required to use this installation kit.

Mounting hardware is included for both Bat Wing and Shark Nose fairing applications, along with a heat sink and model-specific installation parts. A 90-degree power-input harness is included for Road Glide installations. Speaker-output Y-adapters support later system expansion to compatible lower-fairing, saddlebag, or Tour-Pak speaker locations.

Design & Installation

The RFK-HD14M5 combines PC-OFC wiring, an amplifier heat sink, dedicated brackets, standoffs, fasteners, and harnesses in one application-specific package. Its included Road Glide bracket hardware and Street Glide mounting hardware are intended to support the different fairing arrangements used by compatible motorcycles. The package also includes cable-management zip ties and dedicated bypass connections for applicable factory systems.

Confirm motorcycle compatibility before installation, particularly whether the bike was factory equipped with Harley-Davidson powered by Rockford Fosgate audio. Install the compatible amplifier separately, use the included Road Glide 90-degree power-input harness where applicable, and have the factory radio flashed as required. Rockford Fosgate advises disconnecting the battery negative terminal before installation and recommends qualified installation when needed.
