The Rockford Fosgate P2V2-69HO is a pair of 6x9-inch, 2-way convertible car speakers designed for vehicles that use a 2-ohm factory speaker load. The pair can be configured as coaxial speakers or as a component-style system with separately mounted tweeters.

This design is well suited to vehicles with a single 6x9-inch speaker location as well as vehicles with dedicated dash or A-pillar tweeter locations. With the tweeters locked into the woofers, the system functions as a conventional coaxial setup. When the tweeters are removed and installed separately, the system can support improved front-stage placement.

Each speaker is rated for 75 watts RMS and 150 watts peak power handling, with a 2-ohm nominal impedance. The 45 Hz to 25 kHz frequency response covers midbass through high-frequency detail. A 90 dB sensitivity rating at 1 watt/1 meter supports efficient output from a compatible audio system.

Rockford Fosgate uses its I.L.M. Interchangeable Locking Mechanism to let the tweeter lock into or release from the woofer-mounted cup. The system includes an internal high-pass crossover for coaxial use and external passive crossover networks for separated-tweeter installation. External crossover settings provide 0 dB or -3 dB tweeter attenuation for system tuning.

The P2V2-69HO uses a mica-reinforced polypropylene curvilinear cone, Santoprene half-roll surround, and a glass-fiber-reinforced composite basket. Its removable motor cover helps reduce required mounting depth in space-constrained locations. Design & Installation

The P2V2-69HO combines a 20-40% mica-reinforced polypropylene curvilinear cone with a Santoprene half-roll surround and a 15% glass-fiber-reinforced PA66 composite basket. The surround is chemically bonded to the cone body, while the speaker uses a linear Nomex spider, braided tinsel leads, an overhung voice coil, and a Y35 ferrite motor structure. A vented Kapton voice-coil former is used to support heat dissipation.

Confirm the vehicle's 6x9-inch mounting location, 8.41 x 5.71-inch cutout requirement, available depth, and 2-ohm system compatibility before installation. Standard mounting depth is 3.13 inches, while removing the motor cover reduces minimum mounting depth to 2.55 inches. Use the included phase plugs when relocating the tweeters, install the supplied passive crossovers for external-tweeter use, and note that grilles are not included.
