Rockford Fosgate P2V2-675 6.75" Convertible Speakers

The Rockford Fosgate P2V2-675 is a pair of 6.75-inch, 4-ohm two-way convertible car speakers designed for factory-system replacement and custom audio upgrades. Its detachable tweeter design lets the same set serve as a conventional coaxial speaker or as a separated component system. This flexibility is useful for vehicles with either a single full-range door location or separate woofer and tweeter locations.

In coaxial configuration, the tweeter mounts with the woofer for a streamlined installation in a single speaker opening. When the tweeter is removed and installed separately, the system can place high frequencies higher in the cabin, such as in a dash or A-pillar location. The included passive crossover networks support the separated-tweeter configuration.

Each speaker is rated for 75 watts RMS and 150 watts peak, with a 4-ohm nominal impedance. The system has a 49 Hz to 25 kHz frequency response and 88 dB sensitivity measured at 1W/1m. These ratings make it suitable for use with a compatible aftermarket amplifier or a properly matched factory or aftermarket head unit.

The P2V2-675 uses Rockford Fosgate's I.L.M. Interchangeable Locking Mechanism to secure or release the tweeter from the woofer assembly. VAST 2.0 surround construction increases usable cone area compared with conventional surround placement. An inverted Tetolon dome tweeter and mica-reinforced polypropylene woofer cone are used for the system's high- and midrange-frequency reproduction.

For installation flexibility, the speaker has a removable motor cover that reduces the minimum mounting-depth requirement in tight locations. The package includes tweeter mounting cups, crossover networks, wiring accessories, hardware, and a speaker cutout template. Grilles and trim rings are not included, so they should be selected separately if required by the installation.

Design & Installation

The P2V2-675 uses a 15% glass-fiber-reinforced PA66 composite basket, a chemically bonded mica-reinforced polypropylene cone, and a Santoprene half-roll surround. Its linear Nomex spider and stitched braided tinsel leads are designed for repeated cone movement. The 3/4-inch Tetolon inverted dome tweeter can be mounted in the supplied flush-mount or surface-mount cups when used separately.

Confirm the vehicle's mounting opening, depth, front clearance, and factory wiring arrangement before installation. The speaker requires a 5.51-inch cutout diameter, 2.48 inches of mounting depth with the motor cover fitted, and 0.43 inch of front-side clearance. Use the internal crossover when the tweeter remains attached, or install the supplied external crossover network when the tweeter is mounted separately.
