The Hertz CK 130 is a 5.25-inch, two-way component speaker system designed for vehicle audio upgrades where separate woofers and tweeters are preferred over a coaxial layout. It combines C 130 midbass woofers, C 26 tweeters, and external CCX 2 passive crossovers. The system is rated at 70 watts continuous power handling and uses a 4-ohm nominal impedance.

This kit is suited to listeners who want to place the tweeters separately from the woofers for more flexible soundstage and imaging setup. The C 26 tweeter uses a 26 mm Tetolon dome and a 20 mm voice coil for detailed upper-frequency reproduction. Its faceplate geometry is engineered to support a linear response in off-axis installations.

The C 130 woofer uses an SPP-M semi-pressed paper cone reinforced with mica powder. This material is intended to balance low moving mass with damping, while the 25 mm voice coil uses an aluminum former. A high-density ferrite magnet and low-carbon polar plates support woofer control at higher power levels.

External CCX 2 crossovers divide frequencies at 2.5 kHz with a 12 dB-per-octave high-pass slope. The crossover includes a selectable tweeter-level setting of 0 dB or +3 dB, allowing the upper-frequency output to be adjusted for the vehicle and mounting position. Pure-copper inductors and low-loss capacitors are used in the crossover network.

The CK 130 is a practical option for replacing factory component speakers or building a compact front-stage system. Its 65 Hz to 22.5 kHz stated frequency response supports a wide listening range, while separate driver placement can help accommodate factory or custom woofer and tweeter locations. Grilles are included for installations where the woofers are exposed.

Key Features

  • Two-Way Component System: Separate woofers, tweeters, and crossovers allow flexible driver placement.
  • SPP-M Woofer Cone: Semi-pressed paper with mica balances damping and rigidity.
  • Tetolon Dome Tweeter: A 26 mm soft dome handles upper-frequency detail.
  • CCX 2 Passive Crossover: Divides frequencies at 2.5 kHz for each driver.
  • Tweeter Level Adjustment: Select 0 dB or +3 dB high-frequency output.
  • Included Protective Grilles: Metal-mesh grilles help protect exposed woofer installations.

Design & Installation

The C 130 woofer combines a semi-pressed paper-mica cone, aluminum-former voice coil, ferrite motor, three-spoke basket, and rubber magnet cover. The C 26 tweeter uses a Tetolon dome with a neodymium magnet. The supplied woofer grilles use a high-resistance ABS structure with a metallic finish and protective metal mesh.

Confirm available door or panel clearance before installation, including the 119 mm woofer cutout diameter and the depth required behind the mounting surface. Connect each woofer and tweeter to its supplied CCX 2 crossover rather than directly in parallel, then connect the crossover input to the amplifier or head-unit speaker output. Use the 0 dB or +3 dB tweeter setting after installation to suit the tweeter location and listening position.
