Hertz DP2-200 2-Channel Class AB Car Amplifier

The Hertz DP2-200 is a compact two-channel Class AB car amplifier designed to add dedicated power to front speakers, rear speakers, or a single bridged subwoofer channel. It is intended for vehicle audio upgrades where a factory or aftermarket radio needs more output than its built-in amplifier can provide. Its two-channel layout supports stereo operation or bridged mono operation with compatible speaker loads.

Rated at 80 watts RMS per channel at 4 ohms and 110 watts RMS per channel at 2 ohms, the DP2-200 is suited to many component and coaxial speaker systems. It can also be bridged to deliver 220 watts RMS to one 4-ohm load. Variable high-pass and low-pass filters allow the amplifier to be configured for full-range speakers or a subwoofer application.

The speaker-level input sensitivity range extends from 1.6 to 40 Vrms, and built-in USS technology is designed to work with source units that monitor speaker-load presence. Automatic remote turn-on/off is available from compatible BTL speaker-level outputs.

The DP2-200 fits neatly into a focused two-channel upgrade or can serve as a compact mono amplifier for a 4-ohm subwoofer. A full-range preamp output can pass signal to an additional amplifier as a system grows. Its compact chassis is intended for installations with limited available mounting space, including factory amplifier locations.

Install the amplifier in a dry, ventilated vehicle location and maintain clearance around the chassis for airflow. Use it in stereo with 2-ohm or higher speakers per channel, or bridge it only to a 4-ohm load. RCA preamp inputs suit aftermarket receivers, while the supplied speaker-level harness supports integration with compatible factory-radio outputs.
