Infinity 3002A 2-Channel Powersports Amplifier

The Infinity Kappa Perfect 3002A is a compact two-channel Class D powersports amplifier designed to add clean external power where installation space is limited. It is suited to motorcycle, marine, and other powersports audio systems that need more output than a source unit can provide. Its two-channel layout can power a pair of speakers or be bridged for a single compatible subwoofer application.

With 100 watts RMS per channel at 4 ohms and 150 watts RMS per channel at 2 ohms, the 3002A is built for properly matched full-range speakers. When configured in bridged mode, it delivers 300 watts RMS at 4 ohms. The selectable crossover and bass-boost controls help tailor the amplifier to speaker-focused or subwoofer-focused system layouts.

The amplifier uses efficient Class D operation in an ultra-compact aluminum chassis measuring only 8.157 inches wide, 1.75 inches high, and 3.35 inches deep. Its outdoor-oriented construction includes a weather-resistant chassis and conformal-coated circuit board. This makes it a practical choice for installations exposed to the vibration and environmental demands common in powersports vehicles.

Integration is flexible because the 3002A accepts both RCA line-level and speaker-level input signals. The input selector accommodates low-level aftermarket source outputs or high-level factory-style speaker outputs. When speaker-level inputs are used, its DC-offset signal sensing can turn the amplifier on without a separate remote-turn-on connection.

System tuning is straightforward with selectable full-range, high-pass, and low-pass crossover modes. The crossover frequency can be set to 60, 80, or 120 Hz with a 12 dB-per-octave slope, while the low-pass mode also enables selectable 0, +6, or +12 dB bass boost at 45 Hz. Use it as a compact speaker amplifier in a two-channel system, or bridge it into a 4-ohm subwoofer setup when appropriate.

Design & Installation

The 3002A combines an aluminum chassis with a compact footprint for installations where conventional amplifiers may not fit. Its weather-resistant construction and conformal-coated circuit board are intended for demanding powersports environments. Power and protection indicators provide visible operating-status feedback, while the amplifier includes a 25A fuse.

Mount the amplifier in a secure location with adequate airflow and do not install it with the heat sink facing downward. Infinity recommends 10 AWG wire, and the main fuse and fuse holder should be located within 18 inches of the vehicle battery for direct-hardwire installations. Optional mating connectors can be used, or the supplied harness connections can be direct-wired; select HI or LO input level to match the source signal and set gain carefully before final tuning.
