AUDIO360 AD4CXL 4 AWG Amplifier Wiring Kit $56.00
Bundle total: $274.70

The Hifonics A1000.2D is a compact two-channel car audio amplifier designed to add external power and tuning control to an upgraded vehicle sound system. Its full-range Super D-Class design allows it to power compatible speakers in stereo or operate as a bridged mono amplifier for a compatible subwoofer application. It is suited to systems that need more output capability than a head unit's built-in amplifier can provide.

Rated output is 250 watts per channel at 4 ohms or 500 watts per channel at 2 ohms, with a 1,000-watt bridged rating at 4 ohms. This gives installers flexibility when matching the amplifier to a pair of speakers or a single 4-ohm mono load. Proper speaker impedance and power handling should be confirmed before wiring the amplifier.

For sound shaping, the A1000.2D includes selectable low-pass, full-range, and high-pass crossover modes. Both the high-pass and low-pass crossover controls adjust from 50 Hz to 250 Hz at 12 dB per octave. A variable Bass EQ provides 0 to 12 dB of boost centered at 45 Hz for systems that need low-frequency adjustment.

The amplifier supports both RCA-level and speaker-level signal integration, making it practical for many aftermarket and factory-radio upgrade paths. Its variable input sensitivity range of 0.2 to 10 volts helps accommodate different source-unit output levels. Signal-sense turn-on capability can simplify installation when using a compatible high-level source signal.

Hifonics equips the A1000.2D with Ultra-Fi MOSFET output devices, a pulse-width-modulated power supply, and a heavy-duty aluminum alloy heat sink. The design also uses surface-mount technology and illuminated protection diagnostics for overload and speaker-short conditions. Its compact chassis is intended for installations where available amplifier mounting space is limited.

Key Features

  • Two-Channel or Bridged Operation: Run a stereo speaker pair or bridge the amplifier for one compatible 4-ohm mono load.
  • Full-Range Super D-Class Design: Provides a compact, efficient platform for full-range speaker or subwoofer system use.
  • Adjustable Accu-Cross Filters: Select LPF, full-range, or HPF operation and tailor the crossover from 50 to 250 Hz.
  • Variable Bass EQ: Adds adjustable bass emphasis from 0 to 12 dB at 45 Hz.
  • High-Level Signal Inputs: Connect to compatible speaker-level outputs without requiring a separate line-output converter.
  • Signal-Sense Turn-On: Can power on from a compatible high-level input signal, reducing the need for a remote lead.

Design & Installation

The A1000.2D uses a black compact chassis with a heavy-duty aluminum alloy heat sink to move heat away from its MOSFET output section. Nickel-plated RCA connectors and nickel-plated, high-temperature-resistant hex-screw terminals support secure signal and power connections. Angled connection points help improve access during installation.

Use 4 AWG cable at the power and ground terminals, 18 AWG speaker wire at the speaker terminals, and an appropriately selected external fuse. Select stereo or bridged wiring only after verifying the connected speakers' impedance and power requirements. The amplifier may be turned on through switched remote turn-on or compatible signal-sense operation, and its crossover mode should be set for the role it serves in the system.
