The Hifonics ZG-1200.2 is a two-channel car audio amplifier designed to add substantial external power to a speaker system or a compatible subwoofer setup. It is a Class A/B model with stereo and bridged-mono operating options, making it suitable for a range of upgrade paths. Use it when a factory or aftermarket receiver needs more output capability than its built-in amplifier can provide.

In stereo operation, the ZG-1200.2 is rated for 300 watts RMS per channel at 4 ohms or 600 watts RMS per channel at 2 ohms. It can also be bridged to deliver 1,200 watts RMS into a 4-ohm mono load. These configurations allow it to support two speakers, two subwoofers within its impedance limits, or one appropriately matched bridged subwoofer.

The amplifier uses a PWM MOSFET power supply with Hifonics Simpatico Coil Design to support stable power delivery. Its Class A/B architecture is paired with a low-noise preamplifier circuit and a stated 10 Hz to 22 kHz frequency response. Variable crossover controls and bass adjustment help tailor the amplifier for full-range speakers or a subwoofer-focused installation.

Integration is practical for both aftermarket and factory audio systems. The ZG-1200.2 provides RCA inputs along with speaker-level inputs, so it can accept either low-level preamp signal or a factory speaker-level signal. RCA outputs are also provided for passing signal to an additional amplifier in a larger system.

Built for conventional vehicle installations, the amplifier uses an aluminum heat sink and angled connection terminals for accessible wiring. LED power and protection diagnostics help identify operating or fault conditions, including overload and speaker-short protection. A 4 AWG power/ground terminal capacity and 12 AWG speaker terminal capacity support a properly planned installation.

The ZG-1200.2 uses an aluminum heat sink to dissipate operating heat and a Class A/B amplifier platform with a PWM MOSFET power supply. Its nickel-plated RCA inputs, molded connection terminals, and angled terminal layout are intended to support secure, accessible connections. The chassis measures 10.875 inches long, 8.25 inches wide, and 2.375 inches high.

Mount the amplifier on a secure, dry surface with adequate airflow and route power, signal, and speaker wiring carefully through the vehicle. Use 4 AWG-capable power and ground wiring, a properly sized fuse near the battery, and speakers wired within the amplifier's rated impedance limits. For bridged use, connect one 4-ohm load as specified and configure the crossover and input level conservatively before final tuning.
