The Crunch GP-1500.2 Ground Pounder is a two-channel Class A/B car audio amplifier for adding dedicated power to a vehicle sound system. It can run a pair of speakers in stereo or power a compatible subwoofer through its bridged output. This flexibility makes it suitable for systems that need more output than a head unit's built-in amplifier can provide.

For stereo applications, the GP-1500.2 is rated for 325 watts per channel at 4 ohms or 750 watts per channel at 2 ohms. When configured in bridged mono, it is rated for 1,500 watts at 4 ohms. Match the amplifier's operating mode and impedance requirements carefully to the speakers or subwoofer being used.

The amplifier includes a variable electronic crossover with a 12 dB-per-octave slope to help direct the appropriate frequency range to connected speakers. Its built-in bass control and switchable bass boost provide additional low-frequency adjustment. A 0.2-9V variable input range supports setup with a variety of source-unit signal levels.

Installation options include low-level RCA inputs for aftermarket receivers and speaker-level inputs for factory or aftermarket radios without RCA preouts. The amplifier can operate in stereo, bridged mono, or stereo/bridged mono configurations as specified by Crunch. RCA outputs can also pass signal to another amplifier in a larger system.

Crunch builds the GP-1500.2 with SPEED-FET MOSFET output devices, a high-energy pulse-width-modulated power supply, and a QTD aluminum heat sink. Nickel-plated brass terminals and screw-down connections support secure wiring. LED diagnostics provide visual indication of power and protection status during operation.

Nickel-plated brass connection terminals and screw-down connectors are designed for secure, serviceable wiring.

Mount the amplifier on a secure surface with adequate ventilation and do not install it upside down. Use 4 AWG power and ground wiring, a 25A fuse, and a properly prepared chassis ground close to the amplifier; the power cable should be fused within 18 inches of the battery. Use RCA inputs when available, or the high-level input harness with a source unit that lacks RCA outputs, then select stereo or bridged wiring only for a load compatible with the chosen configuration.
