Rockford Fosgate TMS5 5.25" Tour-Pak Speakers

The Rockford Fosgate TMS5 is a pair of 5.25-inch, 2-way coaxial speakers engineered for the rear Tour-Pak speaker locations on select 1998-2013 Harley-Davidson motorcycles. They replace factory Tour-Pak speakers while retaining the original mounting location and factory speaker connectors on standard applications. This makes the TMS5 a focused upgrade for riders seeking clearer, more capable rear sound without changing the intended speaker location.

Each TMS5 uses a 4-ohm design with 65 watts RMS and 130 watts maximum power handling per speaker. Its 64 Hz-20 kHz frequency response and coaxial layout cover midrange, bass presence, and high-frequency detail from one compact assembly. The design is suited to motorcycle listening conditions where wind, road noise, and open-air riding can make detail harder to hear.

A 25 mm proprietary film-dome tweeter is paired with an integrated phase plug to support high-frequency output and clarity. The low-profile coaxial tweeter design keeps the speaker compact for the intended Tour-Pak application. An integrated 6 dB tweeter crossover uses a high-power polyester capacitor to manage the transition to the tweeter.

The woofer section combines a carbon-fiber-reinforced polypropylene cone with a co-molded Santoprene VAST surround. A neodymium ring-magnet motor and 35.6 mm voice coil support the compact, efficient speaker design. Rockford Fosgate also uses a Santoprene front isolation spider between the tweeter housing and cone assembly for the exposed motorcycle environment.

The TMS5 is Element Ready, with weather- and water-resistant construction intended to address dust, UV exposure, temperature changes, water, corrosion, and vibration. It is a practical match for a factory-location Tour-Pak refresh or as part of a broader Harley-Davidson audio system upgrade. New grilles and a hardware pack are included, while CVO and Screaming Eagle installations require modification rather than plug-and-play installation.

Design & Installation

The TMS5 uses a carbon-fiber-reinforced polypropylene cone, Santoprene VAST surround, poly-cotton spider, high-temperature glass-reinforced polymer frame, and neodymium motor structure. Its front Santoprene isolation spider and integrated ASA grille support its weather-resistant motorcycle-focused design. The speaker also uses integrated spade terminals and concealed tweeter wiring for a clean assembly.

For standard compatible Tour-Pak applications, remove the factory grille and speaker, transfer the factory speaker wiring to the TMS5 terminals, place the new speaker in the pod, and secure the supplied grille with the included screws. The smaller speaker terminal is positive and the larger terminal is negative. Confirm motorcycle-specific fitment before installation, and note that CVO and Screaming Eagle models require modification.
